Had the pleasure of tracking this tank for a good friend. Shot him around 7pm on Friday night and we came out and found him 39 hours later 857 yards away. Definitely a new time record for us. Hunter did a great job tracking what he could before pulling the plug and calling a dog which resulted in a fairly easy recovery. Congratulations on a nice buck sir!

Some tracks throw curve balls at you and this one was no exception. Ran 800+ yards on a double lung. Very little blood but the hunter did an absolutely stellar job marking what he could before making the call. Came across an electric fence around 600 yards and as I went to discuss our next steps with proceeding to an Amish cut corn field, a neighbor called and let him know his bucks about 250 yards ahead laying by the road. I wouldn't call this a success story as much as a message that even though, you feel you placed a perfect shot, things happen. Deer are resilient and even all the practice in the world can still lead you to a half mile track. Stay humble, don't judge and enjoy the hunt.

Judd and I would just like to wish everyone a safe and successful season. It's long, pace yourself and if the shot doesn't present itself, hold off! He will most definitely be back. With that being said, if you do have to call a dog, do your research. Don't be afraid to check out their FB page or ask for proof of a UBT certification. If they don't have that, they at least need to be registered with the DNR and in their first season as a tracking team. Don't be fooled by random people who "have a dog" and give guys a bad name who put countless hours and thousands in equipment and supplies for proper certifications to make this possible. If you're not close to me, I'm more than happy to refer you to a local well rounded tracking team in your area that can assist you. We service all of Tuscola and its surrounding Counties (if time allows). Good luck, stay humble and don't be afraid to read Fred's 10 commandments once (or twice).

Bow season is 3 days away! Every hunter in the history of hunting is 6.7x likely to need a dog at some point in their hunting journey. Now is a fantastic time to get to know your local tracker. Message us, get to know us and in return, we'll have a well rounded conversation about your property and what to do if such an issue arises. We're not just here to track your deer, our goal is to recover wounded game. Whether it's with or without the use of a dog. (Pic for attention 🤷‍♂️)
