With four does bred and hopefully kits on the way, life will get a little crazier around the barn soon!

The storms have been making life with rabbits interesting, and I hope everyone is faring well with the turbulent weather.

One of my most favorite memories of Peaches was her quirk of pulling fur. That sounds weird, but stay with me.

Peaches was a spunky and clever little creme. I loved her to pieces, and in the beginning, I showed her constantly. We would show about once a month, and she started learning that if she had loose fur, she wouldn't do well at a show.

I have no idea how this happened, either she could pick up on my mood change through my hormones, or just naturally pulled fur once a month. Either way, she didn't molt like a normal rabbit until she got older and had been retired for quite some time.

I think of her lovingly quite often. She loved being in a show environment (which makes sense, she was there since she was 13 weeks old), and I recently acquired a doe that looks exactly like her (Peaches is one of her great grandparents). It threw me for a loop. Hope you guys enjoy this little tidbit!

My three promising bunnies.. all have their own quirks, pros and cons. This is what I love about rabbits, Cremes specifically anyway. Crossing my fingers I can make it to Creme Nationals this year 🀞🀞

Here in Kentucky we got hit with a pretty big snowstorm (almost a foot of snow in less than 2 days). I love snow, and winter is my favorite time of year, but it is one of the things that makes me anxious about my rabbits. I hope all my fellow rabbit breeders who got hit with this storm or something similar are doing okay, and keeping themselves and their bun buns warm. Picture of Ember for tax 🧑

Today we showed at the NKYRBA's Winter Wonderland Show in Falmouth, KY! I love this show, and this is the third year we went. Usually I am the only creme breeder there, but this year I was so happy to have another youth exhibitor and open breeder there! Unfortunately there weren't enough cremes for legs, but the fun of it all was worth it.

Highlights:

🌩 PC's Stormi- I love this little doe. She won BOB in 3/4 shows and got Reserve in Show (the d'Argent specialty show)! I'm very proud of her and have high hopes for her future.

✨️ PC's Celeste- She did pretty good. Got 1 BOB, and was pretty consistent in her comments from the judges.

πŸ”₯ PC's Ember- This buck.. I love his head and personality, but his body needs some more time. He got 1 BOSB.

And our new arrival... Tw***ie! He is such a stud, and only 9 weeks old. I love him, but I'm thinking of changing his name πŸ˜‚ He got BOSB in 3/4 shows, and needs some more time, but also very promising!

So overall, very optimistic and happy showing day. Met new friends, sold a rabbit, got a RIS, and got to steal my buddies' Netherland Dwarf. I swear, he WANTED to be shoved into my hoodie and smuggled home. Anyway, thanks for reading, bye!

I will be offering two Creme does (1 Senior, 1 intermediate) at the Winter Wonderland Show on the 14th! Entries are due today!

Both are fully pedigreed and I am hoping to sell to someone local. Prices are in the description.

Sorry about the wonky pictures, they weren't 100% cooperating and I took the pictures in less than 12 hours from each other lol

Sometimes raising rabbits isn't about breeding, showing, or even talking about them. Sometimes it's all about cookies.

These are free handed cookies, messily topped like pink glitter, of course. Happy Tuesday!

Sup, homeys?

I'm kidding, but I'm here to bring an update! We got past Thanksgiving, (Happy late Thanksgiving to my American friends) and now onto the fun part.. Christmas! I don't know if you can tell.. but I LOVE Christmas. But not for the reasons you may think! I just love the Christmas Spirit, and how everyone is just generally in a better mood. It's perfect, happy people, and winter! Winter's my favorite season. β„οΈπŸ©΅

I bred two rabbits, Dottie and Jane. Dottie x Hugo is a pairing to be reckoned with! I don't think he compliments her perfectly, but my new stud Ember is a little too young to take his place fully. Plus, what's the harm in extra babies until then?

In other news, the plan is that I will be going to the Winter Wonderland Show on the 14th of this month. I love this show and it will be the 3rd year in a row that we attend! The special thing about this year is.. (drumroll)... it's going to be a d'Argent specialty!!! That means all three of the currently recognized d'Argent breeds (Champagne d'Argent, Creme d’Argents, and d'Argent Brun) will be sanctioned and hopefully shown in a large amount. So calling on any Creme or other d'Argent breeders to come chill with me!

Anyway that's it, bye πŸ‘‹ πŸ™‚

Sorry yall, I've been a little sick and got behind on a lot! I've been kind of taking it slow since weeding out a lot of my stock with pigeon breast, and I feel like my rabbitry is on the road to recovery! It was really hard making those cuts, but I hope I can start to see the benefits soon. Here are a few pics of my fur-ssistant and my creme growouts. Have a great Halloween and rest of your week everybody!

The reign of Peaches is over.

She passed yesterday.

Peaches was a very special rabbit, born exactly 2 months before my 15th birthday. She was a wonderful mother, show rabbit, and friend. One of my most favorite memories of her was with her first litter. I had been trying for Creme babies for almost 2 years, and she ended up having my first litter in a (large and homemade) carrying cage in our garage during a blizzard.

As I'm sure a lot of you know, we lost many litters in 2023. The first was Peaches'. She wasn't the same since, and after trying and failing 4 or 5 more times, I gave up and she was retired. I noticed how she was deteriorating both physically and mentally, so I made the hard decision to have her put down. This was not something I did lightly, and I thought about it for a long time.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and this rabbitry. I'm not kidding when I say this rabbitry (and design business) are 100% built around her. She was my baby, and it hurts that she isn't here anymore, but I needed to do right by her.

Peaches will be missed. πŸ’”
