Please email us or DM us if you would like to set up an appointment. :) This page is volunteer created and managed to support the Township of Union Animal Shelter in finding homes for their animals and reach out for their different needs. All of the information comes directly from the staff at the shelter. If you have any specific questions, please contact the

My heart breaks for Queenie. 💔

Queenie has been in the shelter for over a year and a half. The shelter environment has been incredibly difficult for her, and she struggles with anxiety and fear. What she needs most is a loving home where she can finally decompress, feel safe, and learn that she is cared for.

We don't know what Queenie has been through, but it's clear she hasn't always known kindness. She needs someone willing to be patient, provide gentle leadership, and allow her to build trust at her own pace.

Queenie is looking for either a foster or an adopter who can give her the chance she deserves.

🏡 Adult-only home preferred
🐾 No other pets
❤️ Lots of patience, understanding, and love

She may not show her true self right away, but with time and consistency, Queenie has the potential to blossom. She just needs someone willing to give her that chance.

The shelter is in need of some donation’s for the animals.

Laundry detergent
Kitty milk
Wet & dry cat food

And a special request for Queenie who is still at the shelter. If anyone has a weight blanket for her. The shooting range is very active and this just stresses her out more. She needs out.

You know, I have to remind the people in the back.

With the holiday weekend starting, which is the start of summer with backyard parties we need to be vigilant of where our pets are specially when doors and gates are being opened and closed.
Remind your children to make sure they close doors and gates when coming and going.

This is a long weekend, shelter will close at 12:30 on Friday, May 22 and will not be reopened to public till Tuesday May 26th so if your pup gets out It could be a very long and lonely weekend for them.

If your dog is chipped, please make sure the information is updated. If your pet is not chipped I advise you to go get your dog chipped and registered tags are good for tags. Also can be taken or broken off.

Have a very safe holiday weekend and keep your pet safe.

The after hour service will be on call.
If you find a lost pet please call UPD NON-EMERGENCY NUMBER to report and pick up.

Sweet Queenie 🐾

Queenie has been at the shelter for 1 year and 5 months — far too long for any dog.
She came to the shelter as a seized & surrendered terrified and unsure of people. At first, she wouldn’t let anyone get close to her. The constant barking from other dogs and the nearby outdoor shooting range only made her anxiety worse.

With patience, kindness, and slow progress, Queenie began taking treats and coming to the front of her kennel. When things are calmer at the shelter, staff members have been able to spend time working with her, and she continues to improve every day.

Queenie is looking for:
• A quiet home
• Older teens or adult-only household
• A patient family willing to give her time to decompress
• Continued training (the shelter will provide 3 free training sessions)
• No other pets

Queenie deserves the chance to finally feel safe and loved. If you think you could be the right fit for her — whether through adoption, foster-to-adopt, or fostering — please contact the Union Animal Shelter.

APPOINTMENTS ONLY

Donations

Donations may be dropped off at any time except food or treats in bags. These items must be delivered when someone is present at the shelter.
All blankets, sheets, and towels must be sealed to keep them dry, or dropped off while staff is at the shelter.

After-Hours Contact
If you need to contact the shelter when it is closed, please call the non-emergency line for the Union Police Department they will contact the shelters after-hours service.
