Meet Blue – A Sweet Soul in Need of a Break

Blue came to us as a stray and is now struggling deeply in the shelter environment. He's a little older and very anxious, especially in his kennel. This photo was taken when we first got him—it’s been nearly impossible to get another decent picture because he’s so stressed. We don't want to use a snare pole to move him, as that would only worsen his anxiety.

The shelter is not the right place for Blue. The constant stress, especially with the nearby shooting range now active almost daily, is taking a serious toll on his mental and emotional well-being.

We’re urgently looking for a calm, pet-free, child-free home with someone patient and experienced who can help Blue feel safe again. He deserves a chance to decompress and rediscover the happy, relaxed dog he used to be.

We've reached out to rescues, but we are still searching for the right fit. Blue doesn't belong in a kennel for the rest of his life—he needs a home, not just a holding place.

Please share or reach out if you can help Blue or know someone who can. His time in the shelter cannot be a permanent solution.

Brownie is fill of evergy and would be a perfect family pup. He just needs some basic training that he was never taught, but is a quick learner.

Every time rescue is asked to take an owner surrender- we have to somehow make room on our little raft for that dog. When an owner says stuff like “I don’t have time to give them the best life” or “I have to move” or “they have too much anxiety” it really falls flat because that means if we bring them on the raft, another dog out there in the freezing water gets to die.
Every day in rescue we adjudicate life and death by gate keeping who can get on the boat.
Rescues and shelters are the tiny rescue boats.
The ship is our community at large.
The iceberg is comprised of careless owners, backyard breeders, and a$$hats who won’t spay/neuter.

My fav is aways, I have 2 dogs and cannot keep them will you take them!!!! Do they not know I have 25 dogs? All of which no one else could keep!
