She is a total sweetheart🥰Butters and her friend, Clover (went to rescue) were dumped on the side of a busy highway😞

BUTTERS is about 4 years old , spayed, up to date all shots and rabies 1 yr. vaccination, heart worm negative! She has been Shelter resident for too long !! She is young and ready for a family that will love this baby. She is great with other dogs and loves people & really enjoys being with other dogs. 🐾 This big baby girl is available for foster or adoption now!

Tipsy arrived 2/3/25 at the shelter at about 3 years old, liver & white pit mix. She is about 45ish pounds , spayed , 1 yr rabies, on flea & HW prevention. MOST WILD FOXES LIVE JUST 2–3 YEARS. BUT THEIR ROLE IN NATURE IS FAR BIGGER THAN MANY PEOPLE REALIZE. 🦊

Life in the wild is tough. Foxes face road traffic, disease, food shortages, and predators. Yet these adaptable animals quietly help keep ecosystems functioning.

Here's how they make a difference:

Natural pest control: Foxes eat mice, voles, rats, and other small animals, helping regulate their populations.

A healthier ecosystem: By hunting and scavenging, they influence food webs and help recycle nutrients.

Seed dispersal: Foxes sometimes eat fruit and spread seeds through their droppings, helping plants grow in new places.

Some research has also explored whether foxes can indirectly influence tick-borne disease risks by affecting rodent populations, although the relationship is complex and varies by ecosystem.

Foxes are generally wary of people and usually prefer to keep their distance. Like other wild animals, they deserve space to live without unnecessary disturbance.

Their lives may be short, but their contribution to the natural world is real.

The next time you spot a fox, remember: it's not a villain or a pest by default. It's a wild animal trying to survive—and playing its own part in nature.

❤️Dutchess❤️ Is any one in Alabama that who would be willing to foster Dutchess? That would give her a break from the shelter after being stuck here for over 3 years 💔😖

3 years living at a shelter 💔that’s in a rural area, very few people visit or adopt in person , it’s loud & minimum staff, few volunteers. Our dogs need help finding homes, share far & wide please. 🙏🏼

She came to the Bullock County Humane Society on July 1, 2023 right before the Fourth of July. This 4 ish yr old, 55 pounds solid white baby hippo is a love bug.

Dutchess gets along with other dogs( meet & greets are always welcome) , she is up-to-date on her shots and rabies vaccination for a year, currently on flea & HW prevention❤️

Dutchess is HW NEGATIVE 🥳👏🏻 She is so ready to share her sweet self with you & is still a young gal!

JAN came to the shelter after being fostered until she was 12 weeks old. She and her sibling were found in the woods near where the foster lives, she kept and nursed them back to health🙏🏼

JAN is up to date of her shots, rabies vaccination one year and has been blessed to be heartworm negative. She is on flea and heartworm prevention. She is about 3 yrs old , 35 ish pounds, spayed. Medium energy.
She is great with other dogs, indifferent to cats and loves people. JAN longs for a loving home and a family to love her and fur friends to play with🏃‍♀️

Darling boy always has a great time out in the play yard, getting a little exercise & visiting the other dogs in their kennels.

This darling boy has been here since 1/22/24 waiting for someone to pick him up and take him home 🙏🏼
