⚠️ "Birch Sugar" sounds natural — but for dogs, it can be DEADLY. 🐶☠️

Birch sugar is just another name for xylitol — and even a small amount can cause rapid insulin spikes, hypoglycemia, seizures & liver failure in dogs. 🚨

Watch for these names on labels:
🔴 Birch sugar
🔴 Wood sugar
🔴 Birch bark extract
🔴 "Natural sweetener" (when vague)
🔴 E967

It's hiding in:
🥜 Peanut butter
🍦 Ice cream
💪 Protein bars
🦷 Gum & toothpaste
🍬 "Healthy" snacks & supplements

Keep your dog safe:
✅ Read labels BEFORE sharing food
✅ Avoid all sugar-free products near pets
✅ Never assume "natural" = safe
✅ Keep human snacks out of reach

Clever rebranding doesn't make it harmless.
Read the label twice — because they trust you to catch what they can't. 🐾

For informational purposes only, not medical advice.
Contact your vet immediately if your pet has consumed xylitol.

Is Your Dog Protected? 🐾🦟

Did you know it only takes one mosquito bite to infect your dog with heartworm disease? While we often focus on ticks this time of year, mosquitoes are just as dangerous.

Here is how the cycle works:
1️⃣ The Bite: A mosquito bites an infected animal and picks up baby worms (microfilariae).
2️⃣ The Transfer: That same mosquito bites your dog, injecting the larvae into their system.
3️⃣ The Growth: Over about 6 months, those larvae travel to the heart and lungs, growing into adult worms up to 12 inches long.
4️⃣ The Damage: If left untreated, these worms cause permanent damage to the heart, lungs, and arteries.

The good news? Heartworm is nearly 100% preventable with a monthly chewable or a simple injection from your vet.

Prevention is much cheaper (and safer) than the cure. Don’t wait for the buzzing to start—talk to your vet about year-round protection today! ❤️🐶

Every animal deserves a life free from fear and pain. 🧡

This April, we’re wearing orange to stand up for those who can’t speak for themselves. Animal cruelty happens in many forms—from neglect to physical abuse—and it’s up to us to be their voice. 🐾

Let’s spread love, advocate for stronger laws, and protect our furry friends.
