Owners Billy and Lequieta Roberts founded Shady Hill Kennel in 2000 along with their daughter, Rebecca, when they bought their first Chinese Pug, Precious Rose. They began as hobby breeders raising one litter of puppies a year in their house and eventually their kennel expanded to include not only Pugs but also Pekingese, Pomeranians, and Yorkshire Terriers. By keeping the number of dogs low they
are able to give each one special attention and love. In addition all of their dogs are registered by the American Kennel Club (AKC). A Note From The Owners:
We care a great deal for our dogs and spend many sleepless nights caring for them and their puppies. Their wellbeing is extremely important to us even after they leave our family and we strive to ensure they will go to good, loving homes. All of our puppies are kept up to date on vaccinations, worming, ear mite prevention, and their health is guaranteed. Unfortunately, kennel owners, even good kennel owners have been labeled as cruel operators of “puppy mills” and have been made to suffer due to the atrocious practices of a few individuals who have neglected or treated their animals cruelly. We guarantee that Shady Hill Kennel is not one of such places. Our kennel is kept remarkably clean; it is heated in the winter and cooled in the summer. Our dogs also have the choice of remaining in the climate controlled area of the kennel or going outside under the covered runs which provide both shade and protection from the elements. We often bring several dogs into the yard to play while we do yard work and chores outside. The puppies also get to enjoy the outdoors when the weather is nice and the neighborhood children love to come play with the dogs and puppies.
