It’s taken a lot of hard work to make my dreams of having a surgical room right inside my rescue and it’s finally here ⭐️
I don’t believe we are going to “rescue” our way out of the hundreds of thousands of animals that die every year mostly because there’s just not enough room. Rescuing animals doesn’t make me feel like I’m making a difference. For every animal I rescue, there’s a thousand more born. Every rescue and shelter is not only burned out but we are in crisis. We cry every single day. We all have high anxiety, depression. We are so overworked that some days this just doesn’t seem worth it. I can’t keep going on like this.
I got into rescuing because of the mistakes I made before I knew better. I wanted to educate people because there was a time when I didn’t know what I didn’t know. I truly believe that most people really do want to do the right thing they just either don’t know how or they don’t have the resources. Over the years it was very apparent that the only way we are going to be able to save animals from dying is by SPAYING AND NEUTERING our way out of this! By not bringing more animals into this world. I know every rescue shelter do things differently. It’s heartbreaking to see many at of them at odds with each other. I truly believe we all are just trying to do what we think is the best even if we do disagree at times. I personally follow many rescues and shelters and try and better myself and rescue by taking a little advice from each one and applying it over here. I don’t know how to get out of this mess. I feel like I’m constantly taking two steps forward and twenty steps back but I do know that rescuing , taking animals from people, other rescues and/or shelters doesn’t make me feel like I’m making a difference...helping people to SPAY AND NEUTER does though! So because I can’t take in any more cats (I’m literally drowning in cats and turned away over 50 cats in the past two days) I’m going to do something a little different. If you schedule your dog or cat to get groomed with me in September AND October, I will give you a FREE SPAY OR NEUTER VOUCHER for cats to my spay and neuter clinics. You can use it on one of your cats OR give it to a friend or family member for one of their cats.
So all you have to do is call the grooming salon at 989-463-9797, make an appointment, and when you drop your dog or cat off for their grooming appointment, mention this Facebook post and we’ll give you a voucher.
Please remember these clinics aren’t FREE for me. I have to pay the vets to come in here to preform these surgeries and I have to pay for all of the supplies to do the surgeries but in the long run it’s cheaper to fix ONE cat than a litter of kittens that that one cat will have if I don’t fix it. I’m going to be running low cost clinics $70 for females and $50 for males and I’ll even be running half of days and free ones as long as I have money to do so. It’s always about money around here and when you have a few hundred animals to feed and care for, the money goes quickly so donations are always appreciated so I can use the to disperse throughout the community by doing things like this. If you would like to donate kitty litter, dry cat food, dry kitten food, canned cat food, paper towels, bleach, bleach wipes, we have an Amazon wishlist and a chewy wishlist...and we take pop cans and bottles. In fact, that’s how I build the surgical room. Over Covid, I saved around $20,000 in pop cans and bottles and build the surgical room so cans and bottles are very appreciated. Again, the only way I feel like we are going to save animals from dying is by spaying and neutering every animal you see or hear of. I’m a firm believer of fixer the problem right from the source. We as rescuers and shelter workers need to be working with the public and the owner surrenders by not just taking their puppies and kittens BUT fixing ALL animals in their care so we can move on to the next household knowing that the last one is “fixed” for now. I will be working harder on spaying and neutering clinics and programs this winter but I can’t do it alone. Team work makes the dream work so please join my mission and spread the work about spaying and neutering.
So call the grooming salon at 989-463-9797, schedule your dog or cat to get groomed and get a FREE CAT SPAY OR NEUTER APPOINTMENT ❤️
