Horse Star Of The Month Nomination:
"Maewyn Time After Time, better known as Lucky, came into my life exactly one year ago—at a time when I needed him most. After losing two of my closest family members, my parents surprised me with this 13.3 hand Registered Morgan gelding. I didn’t just gain a horse that day; I gained a partner, a healer, and my best friend.

When we first brought Lucky home, he was barely broke under saddle. He was unsure about being sprayed and didn’t love having a saddle pad placed on his back. Everything was new, and he wasn’t afraid to show it. Instead of rushing him, we slowed down and built trust. Grooming became bonding time. Now, he could stand in the wash bay for hours, happily soaking up attention. He loves his Marigold grooming spray, massages, and any excuse to be pampered. When his favorite saddle touches his back, his ears perk forward because he knows it’s time to work.

Training Lucky has shaped me as much as it has shaped him. He has taught me patience, softness, and how to truly listen. This month we cantered under saddle for the first time ever, and he was absolutely amazing—calm, willing, and proud. Today he is cuddly, loves liberty work, follows me around the barn, and will do just about anything for a Stud Muffin.

I believe Lucky deserves to win not just for how far he has come in his training, but for the heart he carries. He helped me through the hardest time in my life, created memories that will last forever, and taught me skills I could never learn on an already finished horse. He is shaping my future in the equestrian world, and I could not be more proud to call him mine."

A little something to warm our hearts during this extra cold winter: we are accepting nominations for our annual school horse initiative!

Grand Prix Equine founded this program to honor horses in riding programs whose purpose is to develop and perfect a rider’s skill set. These special animals have the kindest hearts and take excellent care of their riders under the expertise of a trainer. School horses are the foundation of all riding programs; our industry would suffer greatly without them.

This year, five horses will be chosen to receive $500 as a small token of our appreciation for these unicorns. The winners will be selected in a live drawing on National School Horse Day

To nominate your favorite school horse, visit https://www.grandprixequine.com/school-horse-nominations

Hi, I’m Amy 👋

I’m the owner of TKF Equine Sportsmassage LLC, based in Hollis, New Hampshire. I’m a Certified Veterinary Technician with over 25 years of experience and recently certified in
Wilson Meagher® Equine Sportsmassage technique.

I’ve spent my career caring for animals, and equine bodywork felt like a natural extension of that work—helping horses feel comfortable, balanced, and supported in their daily lives and performance.

I’m excited to begin offering equine sportsmassage in southern New Hampshire and surrounding areas. Feel free to follow along as I share more about how it can benefit your horse 🐎
