🐾 We’re Hiring – Part-Time Kennel Tech 🐾

Tri County Animal Shelter is looking for a reliable and compassionate Part-Time Kennel Technician to join our team. This position is 29 hours per week and plays a critical role in the daily care of our cats and dogs.

Duties include:
• Feeding and watering animals
• Cleaning kennels and living spaces
• Monitoring animal health and behavior
• Assisting with adoptions and visitors
• Providing love and enrichment to animals in our care

Requirements:
• Must be 18 or older
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet
• Comfortable working with all sizes of dogs and cats
• Dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented

We take the Animal Welfare Act of North Carolina very seriously and expect all staff to uphold the highest standards of care and compassion. This is a chance to make a real difference for animals in need every single day.

💚🐾 ADOPTED🐾💚

When you look into Brownie’s eyes, you see more than a shelter cat. You see a survivor, a nurturer, and a soul who has given so much of herself.

Brownie is around 5–6 years old and was once the cat her prior shelter could always rely on. When motherless kittens arrived, she stepped in. Not just once, but more than ten times. She became the mom who never gave up on them, the lifesaver who kept tiny hearts beating.

Now it’s Brownie who needs saving. In just a few weeks she has endured the stress of moving shelters and then being spayed. The weight of it all has been hard on her, and she is not doing well here.

This girl has already given her heart to so many. She deserves a forever family who will give theirs back to her.

🌸 Meet Gracie 🌸

This sweet girl is a 2-year-old Border Collie mix who came to us as a stray. Gracie has the softest eyes and a gentle spirit that will melt your heart. She’s still getting used to shelter life, but she lights up when people stop by to give her attention.

Because she came in as a stray, we don’t know her history with other dogs, cats, or kids. But we’re always open to meet and greets to help find the right match.

💜 Feel Good Friday: Valkyrie’s New Life 💜

Formerly known as Savannah, this girl went from life on the streets to ruling the house, and now she even has the name to match, Valkyrie.

She may be 50 pounds, but don’t tell her she isn’t a lap dog. She’s convinced you just need bigger laps! Since being adopted, Valkyrie has taken her rightful place as queen bee, keeping everyone in line (including her sibling Gunner). She’s a total velcro baby, always glued to her people, and if a door closes with her on the wrong side, she’ll let you know.

House training is coming along beautifully, and while toys still don’t make much sense to her, she’s already learned that treats are the best part of the day. She has her own everything now, her AirTags are on the way, and even ear-cleaning time with the vet’s medicine hasn’t slowed her down.

From lap cuddles to bossing around her brother, Valkyrie has made it clear she’s right where she belongs: safe, loved, and the queen of her castle.

Here’s to happily ever afters, one adoption at a time. 🐾
