Being a schnauzer parent means being vigilant about what your dog eats. Did you know that miniature schnauzers are one of the top breeds affected by pancreatitis? For some very sensitive dogs, even a single Chick-fil-A nugget is enough to set them off. Take care to feed your dog a diet low in fat content and be mindful of what type of treats you provide. We love plain animal crackers, carrots, blueberries, and frozen green beans as safe snacks.

If you notice vomiting (it usually smells very foul), diarrhea, shaking, hunched body position, these are signs your dog may have pancreatitis. Immediate veterinary care is the best way to overcome this disease. Left ignored, your pup may not recover.

Your pup counts on you to keep them safe!

Congratulations, Ashley & Jack, and her “big schnauzer brothers,” Archie & Griffin.

I got to watch them become a family. Add one of my puppies, and then another… get married and now their first child. I’m not crying!! Are YOU crying!!?

Happy 4th Birthday this past February, Oreo and siblings! 4 years ago his parents flew in from Baltimore to meet their new little pup! He was one of my most dashing and precious boys ever with soft curls and sweet kisses, just like his mama.
