Whether you’re looking for a new best friend, have a little extra room in your home, or just have some time to give, our dogs would love to see you. ❤️

Come by and meet our adoptable dogs, learn about fostering, or spend some time volunteering with the pups who could use a walk, some playtime, and a little extra love. Even if you aren’t ready to bring one home, getting them out of their kennels and spending time with them makes their day a little brighter.

🐾 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗼 ❤️

Uno is a 6-year-old Pittie who isn’t asking for much out of life. Give him a soft bed for his bones, a kind human to hang out with, and a peaceful home to call his own, and we think he’d be pretty content. 🥹

Uno can be a little shy when he first meets you, but underneath that hesitation is a sweet, mellow guy who just needs a little time to feel comfortable. He’s past the wild puppy years and ready for the good stuff - comfy naps, leisurely walks, quiet evenings, and having a person of his own.

There’s something special about the mellow dogs who don’t need to be the center of everything. They’re just happy to be included, happy to have somewhere safe to sleep, and happy to know someone chose them.

🐾 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘅 & 𝗭𝗲𝘂𝘀! 🐾

Rex and Zeus came into the shelter together as strays, and at about 1 year old, these two have been as sweet as can be! ❤️ Both have been wonderful with staff and volunteers so far and are quickly showing us their individual personalities.

🐕 Rex, our Shepherd, is the more mellow of the pair. He’s a sweet guy who is happy to hang out, enjoy some attention, and spend time with his people.

❄️ Zeus, our Husky, is your typical Husky social butterfly! He’s outgoing, friendly, and always ready to make a new friend.

We may not know much about their lives before they arrived, but we do know they’ve been nothing but sweet since walking through our doors. Now, each of these boys deserves the chance to leave shelter life behind and find a loving, consistent, and stable home where they can settle in and finally know they’re there to stay. 🏡❤️

🌟 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗢𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝘆! 🌟

Oliver is a 3-year-old purebred Labrador Retriever who was recently surrendered to us due to a military PCS. Through no fault of his own, this very good boy has found himself looking for a new family - and we seriously can’t believe a pup like Oliver ended up in the shelter!

According to his previous family, Oliver has quite the résumé:
🐶 Good with other dogs
🐱 Good with cats
🏡 House trained
🦮 Good on leash
🚗 Good in the car
💕 Good with elderly
🧠 Knows “sit,” “down,” and “drop it”

Oliver already has experience living in a home and comes with so many of the skills people are looking for in a family dog. He’s a sweet, well-rounded Lab who just needs someone to give him the stability of a home again.

We have a feeling a guy like Oliver won’t be waiting long. Come meet this handsome boy and help us get him out of the shelter and back where he belongs.. in a home! 🐾💛

🐾 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿. ❤️

Cerberus is a hilarious, sweet 3-year-old Doberman who has already experienced far too much change in his young life. He was originally adopted from San Diego Humane Society as a puppy in 2024 and later surrendered due to housing circumstances - through no fault of his own. He was recently adopted again, but unfortunately has now been returned to the shelter.

We really want Cerberus’ next adopter to understand that shelter dogs need time to decompress. Moving from a kennel into a brand-new home with new people, routines, sounds, and expectations is a huge adjustment. They may not immediately show you the dog they’ll become once they feel safe and settled. Patience, structure, and consistency can make all the difference.

And Cerberus has so much going for him:

🐶 Good with other dogs
🖐️ Knows “sit” and “shake”
😂 Hilarious personality
💕 Sweet, affectionate boy

Cerberus is back on our adoption floor and ready to try again. We don’t want to see this guy continue bouncing from place to place. He deserves someone who is prepared to give him the time to settle in, work through the adjustment period, and make a real commitment to him.

💚 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗸! 💚

Shrek is a 6-year-old XL Bully with quite possibly the biggest, sweetest face around. 🥹 This handsome guy has been through a lot of change lately — first finding himself at Yucca Valley Animal Shelter and eventually making his way to us. Now, we’d really love to see his next stop be somewhere permanent. Shrek deserves some stability. 🏡

He was a little shy when he first arrived, but it didn’t take him long to warm up. Now he’s over on the adoption side, happily enjoying his walks, playtime, and attention from our volunteers!

🐾 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗥. 𝗟𝗲𝗲 𝗘𝗿𝗺𝗲𝘆! 🐾

R. Lee Ermey is a 2-year-old Rottie/Shepherd mix who may be a big guy, but he’s an even bigger love bug. ❤️

He originally came to us as a shy stray, but after spending some time getting to know our staff and volunteers, he’s already starting to come out of his shell and show us what a sweet boy he really is!

R. Lee Ermey just needed a little time to realize he was surrounded by friends, and now his personality is starting to shine. We’d love to see this handsome guy continue building his confidence in a home of his own!

🐾 𝗪𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀! 🏡

Fostering can be short-term for just a few days or weeks, or longer-term until a dog finds their forever home. Either way, every opportunity to get out of the shelter makes a difference.

A foster home gives our dogs a much-needed break from the shelter environment while also helping us learn so much more about them - how they behave in a home, their routines, their personalities, and what kind of forever family may be the best fit. ❤️

We provide the supplies you need, including:

🍽️ Food
🏡 A crate
🧸 Toys
🐾 Other basic supplies

We especially need fosters who are able to take Pitties right now. Due to housing and breed restrictions, many of our current Pitties have fewer foster options available to them. If your home allows Pitties, taking one home, even for a short stay, would be a HUGE help.

You don’t have to commit to fostering until adoption to make an impact. Sometimes even a few days out of a kennel gives a dog the chance to decompress, relax, and show us a completely different side of themselves.

🐾 𝗙𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆: 𝗥𝗶𝗯𝗯𝗶𝘁! 🐸

Ribbit is a 1-year-old Bulldog mix with the cutest little underbite and a personality that makes him pretty hard not to love. ❤️ He’s currently in foster care and showing us what a great dog he is in a home!

His foster family reports that Ribbit is:

🐶 Dog friendly
🐱 Cat friendly
🏡 Doing well with house training
🦴 Crate trained - he doesn’t even whine in his crate!
🎾 Loves playing fetch
📺 Enjoys hanging out and watching TV
📝 Learning his basic manners and boundaries
💕 A huge fan of attention and belly rubs

Ribbit has a great mix of playful and cuddly. He’s happy to chase a ball and have some fun, but he’s equally happy hanging out with his people and soaking up all the attention he can get.

He’s already learning so much in foster care and has proven to be an overall great dog - now he just needs a home to call his own. Come meet Ribbit and let that goofy little underbite win you over!

🦝 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗱𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲-𝗼𝗳-𝗮-𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘁! 🦝

Buddy is a 3.5-year-old Heeler who has had a bit of a rough start and is looking for something he hasn’t had enough of yet: consistency. ❤️

Buddy is a pretty shy guy, and new people and unfamiliar situations can be scary for him. But we’ve already seen that once he becomes familiar with someone, his sweet little personality starts to come out. 🥹

His previous owner told us Buddy is:

🐶 Good with other dogs
🐱 Good with cats
🦮 Great on leash
💕 Calm enough to live with an elderly person
👧 Best suited for a home with kids 12+

His quirks? He’s a typical sensitive Heeler who needs a little patience, and because his first instinct when he’s scared can be to get away, he can be a bit of an escape artist. A secure home and yard will be important while he settles in and learns that he’s safe.

Buddy isn’t the dog who is going to run up and immediately throw himself into a stranger’s lap - but give him some time, consistency, and someone he can trust, and we think there’s a really special little dog underneath that little raccoon coat. 🦝❤️
