This is WHY….this is why we all love dogs. No matter how long we get with them!
I received this message this morning. It broke my heart but filled it with joy at the same time. (Posted with permission)
Thank you to our families for letting us be a part of your lives. 🥰
“ Hi. It’s been so long and so much has gone on but I wanted to give you an update on our Gus (technically Gus Gus 😂). We were beyond ecstatic to welcome him into our home and he just fit right in. His big brother Dave (our 10 year old Great Pyrenees) was not super amused at first but quickly warmed up. However, what we didn’t know at the time was Dave was starting to get sick. We thought it was it Addison’s needing to be regulated however, by the end of July we found out he actually had very aggressive big bone cancer. We lost him to it 48 hours later.
While we waited so long to get Gus and took our time and diligence in finding him - in hindsight he was a gift in more ways than one. He was chosen for us to heal our hearts and help us get thru such a devastating time.
He is so funny and has the best personality and disposition. He is also HUGE 😂. He walks his sister to school every morning and has so many fans at school and the neighborhood. He’s even been asked to play Nana in the schools production of Peter Pan. He is so lovable and we joke that he’s Velcro wanting to be attached to us (including the smallest one - bc in his mind they’re the same size, lol). He loves playing tug of war, stealing shoes, pretending we don’t feed him enough, demands ice cubes in his water, jumping in the bed to wake everyone up and snuggling. He’s afraid of the bubbles in the bath when our youngest has them but loves bubbles from the bubble wand.
We love him so much and are so glad he’s ours. Thank you for allowing us to welcome him to our family. You’ll never know how much we needed him.”
I love this family! They really see them. 🥰
