Did Santa bring a new furry friend for Christmas this year? How exciting! Getting a new pet can be very challenging as well if you don’t start training quick. Need help? No worries I can help set you and your new furry family member up for success! Keep reading for for information on training options and pricing.
Everything will begin with a meeting at the client's home to assess what our plan of action will be. Including discussing the history of the dog, what hopes are for after training and will use part of this time to see how the client trains and interacts with the dog. We will talk about the importance of working with the dog one on one and not only paying me to train them. It is also important to make sure you’re consistent in training in order to have a long term well trained doggo. I provide all of the training equipment for when I am training and will happily share links to where I get everything I use.
Option One- At my home training:
When having a session at my house depending on what our plan is for training the dog would stay with me for a minimum of 4 hours. In this time we would begin with basic training, we would train inside and outside in the backyard and depending on the dog we would leash walk in the neighborhood. I would then bring the dog inside, crate for a nap to give them time to decompress and give an enrichment treat. After they have a break I would then do another training session with them. I can pick up and drop off but it will increase the price.
Option Two- At your home:
Training sessions would be cut in half by only doing one round of training instead of two but will need gas reimbursement. In order to prevent distraction to the dog I would need privacy when training, meaning just the client, dog and me. When the home is full of people or distractions, we first train them away from the distractions so they can know how to act in situations where there’s lots going on.
Option Three- At your home just trainer and dog:
For clients I’ve been working with I offer session with just me and the dog. For instance let say we’ve been working together for a few weeks and you’re out busy all day but want your dog tired when you get home or just don’t have the energy to do any training. I can go over to the home and work one on one with the pet. I only offer this once I’ve worked with the client and they know how to continue training when alone. Any time I am alone and working with your dog I will send videos on what we are working on.
Pricing-
Starting will be $25 an hour in your home with gas reimbursement so you could expect it to be about $35-$40 depending on how far away you live from me for one in home session. Let me clarify that this is the minimum, depending on what our course of action is will determine the final price. My prices are more cheaper than other trainers you’ll find because I don’t have the 10+ years of experience and don’t feel comfortable charging the same as they would. That does not mean I don’t know what I’m doing!
Dog training is a passion of mine and I really want to seriously pursue more but need people to give me a chance! I would also love for the client to send videos of them working on training with their dog just to make sure that we are getting some progress and you can get your money's worth. Please message or text me for any questions or booking requests!
