🌸Spring🌼 came early this year and our missed phone calls and text have never been more abundant.

📍We are working on our routes and trying to get you all dates! We ask for patience PLEASE! We know it’s hot and we will get to your animals. Loyalty means a lot to us and we hope you can understand that although there may be a wait time, your animals will get the utmost care during their trim time with us!

We appreciate all our customers! Meantime, provide fresh water daily, electrolytes, and shade! They’ll be okay till we get to you!

Let’s talk about babydoll sheep. 🐑

Ohhhhhh sooooo adorable, very fluffy, and very very small and low to the ground. Cute right?

BUT they are a sheep breed that needs shearing TWICE a year. We spent half of our trip in SoCal crutching and cleaning up faces. As shearers, we appreciate responsible owners. It makes everyone’s jobs easier in the long run.

Being so low to the ground, babydolls get a ton of stuff suck in their wool. Also being a breed that grows wool so fast, they are prone to pizzle rot for males and bladder infections for ewes.

Below is an example of why you must at least crutch ewes to avoid v***a infections. While this wasn’t the dirtiest of sheep we sheared off, it was the only ones we remember to take photos of. We sheared off a few entirely and did some on their bellies and faces.

✅So remember, while they are so cute, they do have a lot of maintenance that comes with their cuteness! 😉
