๐Ÿ˜ผ๐Ÿ’ฅ Big news out of Tulare! ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ˜ผ

Our very own Dr. Jake Gomez just had research published in the journal One Health about a real-life cat flu outbreak (yep, bird flu jumping into house cats ๐Ÿฆโžก๏ธ๐Ÿฑ).

The study shows that while H5N1 can be scary, early vet care + the right treatment = survival is possible. Even better? Cats that recovered built up strong antibodies like tiny furry superheroes. ๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿพ

Weโ€™re beyond proud to see Cross Street Vet on the frontlines of research that protects pets and people. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’‰

โœจ Reminder: preventive care is your petโ€™s best shield. Give us a call to book their next wellness check!

COLLEGE PARK, Md - Bird flu hits cats particularly hard. Just last week an infected cat was euthanized in California after eating raw pet food.

๐ŸŒŸ Tiny but mighty! ๐ŸŒŸ

This sweet hamster named Marsha is back for a recheck after her enucleation (eye removal) surgery and we are thrilled to report she's healing wonderfully! ๐Ÿน๐Ÿ’–

Enucleations are sometimes necessary when an eye is badly injured or diseased, and while it may look like a big surgery, pets like this little one bounce back incredibly fast. Hamsters are resilient, and with proper care, they can continue to live full, happy lives, even with one eye. ๐Ÿ‘€โœจ

We are so proud of this brave patient and their dedicated family for giving them the best care possible. ๐Ÿ’•And a special thanks to Dr. Jake, who preformed the surgery and help this little one!

๐Ÿ‘‰ Remember: if you ever notice changes in your petโ€™s eyes, like swelling, redness, or discharge, do NOT wait! Early treatment makes all the difference. Schedule a check-up today to keep those peepers (or peeper!) healthy.
