We’ve got some new furriends to introduce this week, and we’re kicking things off with the one and only — Dexter! 😍
We’ve been lucky enough to care for his kitty siblings for a while, but this was our very first time hanging out with this silly guy — and what a treat it was! We’re still not sure who had more fun... us or him! 🤪 Dexter had such a blast, he wasn’t too thrilled about us having to share attention with the kitties (see pic #1 😂) — and as you’ll see in the last photo, he definitely wasn’t ready for the fun to end ❤️

SEPTEMBER IS HAPPY CAT MONTH! 😻 This initiative seeks to challenge the common myth that cats are entirely self-sufficient, emphasizing their need for attentive care, mental stimulation, proper nutrition, and regular veterinary visits to live healthy, fulfilling lives.🧡 We are wishing our kitty friends ALL of the purrs, pets, play, and pampering this month and always!!!

Ok Tucson, MARK YOUR CALENDARS 🗓️🐾

1) On SATURDAY OCTOBER 4th 10a-2p , will be at for the 2025 Unpack the PACC with the pinups and as they showcase some adorable, adoptable pooches and have one awesome fundraising and awareness paw-ty! 🎊

2) On THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 18th 6-10p, for only $10, you can enjoy live music, dog-friendly vendors, and a dog ice cream social at PAWS FOR CAUSE at the St Phillips Plaza! All ticket proceeds support the Spay & Neuter Fund-helping pets and their people in our community 🙏

3) On SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 14th 9a-12p is partnering with for a special morning to honor and celebrate the lives of our beloved companions who have crossed the rainbow bridge. There will be memorial rock painting, flash pet tattoos, and grief support 🌈

Come support our communities pets, rescues, and advocacy groups and have so much fun doing so! 🎸💃🕺

Today, we celebrate all of the hardworking people who keep our communities, businesses, and economy thriving! ❤️💪 I’d love to take a moment to celebrate and appreciate this amazing team right here! While many people enjoy some much deserved time off during the holidays, they are out there walking, feeding, scooping, cuddling, and caring for our furriends 💪🐶🐱🐾 They are the paws behind our purpose- which is for every pet to live the good life and their parents to have that peace of mind! Wishing everyone a happy, fur-covered Labor Day! 🫶

We also want to give a special shoutout to our dear teammate and friend, Jamie, who will be pausing her pet care duties for the next few months to focus on her consulting business. We are so grateful for everything that she has done for our pack and also so proud of the work she’s doing to support nonprofits! While we’ll certainly miss her around here, we’re so excited to see her continue to help so many people in such meaningful ways!

When we’re not working with cats.. we still love to be around more cats 😍 Earlier this week we visited the Hermitage No-Kill Cat Shelter & Sanctuary and my heart is full! This amazing no-kill, cage-free sanctuary gives every kitty a second chance at love and life. It’s truly a purradise for the kitties because when they’re not inside in their spacious and cozy apartments, they are outside relaxing on their catios! If you’re looking to adopt, volunteer, or support a truly compassionate cause — this is the place. Keep an eye out for their fun events and fair warning: you might leave with a new best friend! 😻

PROUD pet care professional and dog mom alert! 🎉 It was so awesome watching 7 pups go through rattlesnake or sonoran desert toad avoidance training yesterday! That is 7 dogs who learned what a snake or toad smells, sounds, and looks like and now they can avoid and/or alert their parents when one is near. The videos are my girl who has been through training twice and now every year we just make sure she remembers to avoid BOTH a snake and toad. No collar is needed at this point, but you will see she definitely remembers and can’t get away quick enough. 👏 Huge thank you to Jill Cruz Dog Training, LLC and AZ Animal Experts for a fantastic training! And huge thank you to my husband for helping with the tents to keep the toad and snakes safe from the sun. Keep an eye out for 2026 snake and toad avoidance training dates at Pura Vida Pet Care🧡

The babies at are nice and clean and are ready for their forever homes! 😍 If you haven’t been there yet, you are seriously missing out! If it’s not the right time to add to your family, at least go volunteer because it is guaranteed smiles with this adorable, perfect crew! It’s always heartwarming to see them thriving in their golden years. I know it’s because Old Souls welcomed them when they needed it most, and now they’re surrounded by so much love—from the incredible owner, dedicated staff, and compassionate volunteers🧡🐶🐱🐷🐢 Scroll for smiles and schedule your volunteer/meet and greet with one of these precious angels!
