It's mid-August and OPDTC is working on the website to go live for class sign up this week! Quick preview of our Wednesdays: Member nights are Sept 3, 10, 17. Rally classes to begin Sept. 24. CGC / Manners class to begin Oct. 8. Two obedience foundations (AKC BN class) to begin Oct. 15. Those who previously emailed will be getting a personal tickler when sign up is live on our website!!!

Last Saturday the Old Pueblo Dog Training Club held its annual membership meeting at Reid Park. Thanks to all that came and all those who literally stepped up to volunteer at our upcoming trials in December. The meeting was very positive and we are excited for the future of the club!

FREE RING PRACTICE for Members
(Non-members $10.00 drop-in fee)

When: Wednesday Nights - May 14, 21, 28
Where: Reid Park Training Field
Time: 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Set-Up: 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Rally: Complete courses with gate entry practice available all three Wednesdays.

Obedience: Full Ring Set-Up! Whatever you need: Practice independently; Group Work; Ring Run with Stewards/Judge; or, Instructor help on any and all skills/all levels.

Old Pueblo has decided to offer one more session of Obedience Classes April 16th-May 7th, 2025 on Wednesday evenings at Reid Park. Please see our website for more information www.opdogtraining.com
Obedience classes will be limited so please sign-up soon to reserve your spot.
We will also offer Obedience and Rally Ring practice on Wednesday evenings. Walk-ins will be $15/dog per night or get a discount by registering for all four sessions for $40.

Old Pueblo Dog Training Club has partnered Sublime Canine to offer a special day of Rattlesnake Avoidance Training for dogs, Saturday, March 29th.

Our Rattlesnake Avoidance training is done with live Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes that have had their venom glands surgically removed by a licensed exotic animal vet. Our training is safe, effective and humane for the snakes and the dogs that we work with. Rattlesnake avoidance dogs are trained to recognize and avoid the sight, smell and sound of a rattlesnake.

Thanks to everyone who came out to our fun training day in the park. It was a great morning to be out with dogs. Special thank you to all the club members and guests who pitched in to help setup and tear down rings.

The dog/handler teams today did amazing! We are so excited to see these novice teams progress.

We will be holding additional fun matches in April and May.

Congratulations to OP Member Mike Jennings and his dog Chase for High in Trial Obedience at the Heart of the Desert cluster (January 31st, 2025) under judge Terri Thorton. We are very lucky to have Mike as our lead obedience trainer!
