Hi friends! It's me Ivy. πI need your help!!!Remember when you guys followed by page in order to find me a home after I'd been in a shelter for a year? Well, my friend Dee Dee is in a similar situation & she needs you to share her sorry. She's been at a local shelter Pima Paws For Life for one full YEAR! π’
This is heartbreaking because every dog deserves a family. She came into Pima Paws For Life ill with Valley Fever. They've done an amazing job taking care of her and getting her to be the healthy girl she is today. She's still on medication for it, but just look at her, she looks amazing now!! I mean can she get any cuter with those spots?!?! πππ
She's a 4 year old Boxer and I know from lots of experience that this is the sweet spot for boxers. Dee Dee has a sunny disposition and loves human interaction. She recently had an evaluation with a dog trainer who tested her with both dogs and cats. A no cat home is recommended. She'd prefer to be the only dog, but she does have potential to live with other dogs ONLY if the foster/adopter commits to working with Dee Dee to acclimate and train her to do so. Here is her professional evaluation: β¬οΈ
With cat: No cat home recommended. Intense interest, difficult to redirect.
With small dogs: Would need some work to safely coexist with small dogs, but definitely possible. She rushed the small dogs with playful, but intense, energy. When small dog snapped at her for space, she tried to jump on/paw dog. Over interested, but not difficult to redirect. Will need guidance and to learn boundaries.
With like sized dogs: Very stiff entering yard, but with some verbal and leash guidance, she relaxed enough to play with a large male dog. Body language is tense and awkward, but no aggressive tendencies/behavior observed. Recommend continued safe and structured socialization opportunities with other dogs.
Notes: Social and gregarious girl. Tolerant of all handling and restraint, excitable.

PLEASE Tucson, share Dee Dee's storyππΌ A year is a terribly long time wait day in and day out to find a home. She's so deservingπππ
