Hi friends! It's me Ivy. πŸ’šI need your help!!!Remember when you guys followed by page in order to find me a home after I'd been in a shelter for a year? Well, my friend Dee Dee is in a similar situation & she needs you to share her sorry. She's been at a local shelter Pima Paws For Life for one full YEAR! 😒

This is heartbreaking because every dog deserves a family. She came into Pima Paws For Life ill with Valley Fever. They've done an amazing job taking care of her and getting her to be the healthy girl she is today. She's still on medication for it, but just look at her, she looks amazing now!! I mean can she get any cuter with those spots?!?! 😍😍😍

She's a 4 year old Boxer and I know from lots of experience that this is the sweet spot for boxers. Dee Dee has a sunny disposition and loves human interaction. She recently had an evaluation with a dog trainer who tested her with both dogs and cats. A no cat home is recommended. She'd prefer to be the only dog, but she does have potential to live with other dogs ONLY if the foster/adopter commits to working with Dee Dee to acclimate and train her to do so. Here is her professional evaluation: ⬇️

With cat: No cat home recommended. Intense interest, difficult to redirect.

With small dogs: Would need some work to safely coexist with small dogs, but definitely possible. She rushed the small dogs with playful, but intense, energy. When small dog snapped at her for space, she tried to jump on/paw dog. Over interested, but not difficult to redirect. Will need guidance and to learn boundaries.

With like sized dogs: Very stiff entering yard, but with some verbal and leash guidance, she relaxed enough to play with a large male dog. Body language is tense and awkward, but no aggressive tendencies/behavior observed. Recommend continued safe and structured socialization opportunities with other dogs.

Notes: Social and gregarious girl. Tolerant of all handling and restraint, excitable.

PLEASE Tucson, share Dee Dee's storyπŸ™πŸΌ A year is a terribly long time wait day in and day out to find a home. She's so deservingπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

Hi guys it's me IVYπŸ’š I have some pretty amazing news for everyone. After over 400 days in a shelter, I have been ADOPTED!!!

I get a family of my own and even a new chocolate lab sister to play with! I couldn't be more happy! The family seems awesome and I know they were worth the wait. πŸ™πŸΌ

I wanted to say that you to Pima Paws For Life for taking such amazing care for me and getting me to this point. I'm so grateful for their love and care they gave me day in and day out. I'm going to keep this page active and use it for other Long-Timers in our community that need the exposure. Next up....my pal Grayson. He needs a hospice foster. πŸ˜₯
Details coming soon....

Thank you to everyone who shared my story. You guys are the best!

Love, Ivy 😘

Hey Tucson, let me introduce you to a very special pup named IVYπŸ’š Sadly, this is a picture of the kennel that Ivy has lived in for OVER A YEAR!!! πŸ˜₯ No dog should have to endure being in a shelter for this long. She's had perfect behavior and had a professional evaluation done by a trainer that verified she gets along with both dogs and cats:) At around 5-6 years old she's the perfect mix of playful and calm. She's beautiful and needless to say, she has the BEST ears in town!

Like many dogs in Arizona, she has valley fever, but her meds will been covered for as long as she needs them by an anonymous donor (Ivy has lots of fans). The shelter would prefer that the adopter live in Tucson/Pima County. While Ivy is grateful to the shelter for doing an amazing job of taking care of her and getting her valley fever in check, she is over living in a kennel and wants nothing more than to find a place to call home. Every dog deserves to find "their people". Unfortunately, she just hasn't had much exposure being in a smaller shelter and has been passed up day in and day out.

Please, please share this girl with your friends and family. She's an absolute sweetheart and has been patiently waiting long enough! After all this time she really deserves an adopter that will spoil herπŸ’œYou will not regret meeting her!

Ivy is located at Pima Paws For Life. If interested please go meet her in person. They are open for visitors from 9:00am to 11:00am and 2:00pm to 5:00pm daily.
