Veterinarians are 2.7 times more likely than the general population to commit suicide. If you have a veterinarian that you love and trust with your beloved animals, let him/her know and be reasonable in your requests of them. They have a life, a family, friends and absolutely need time to decompress from the demands of their work.

Thank you for today Dr. Lindholm and Dr. Baltris and for everyday you help to make our incredible horses feel their best ❤️

Thank you JoJo Bradford for your incredible words above and posting this on your page.

Neonatal Maladjustment Syndrome AKA “dummy foal syndrome” occurs in 3- 5% of live foal births. These foals fail to recognize their mares and have no interest in nursing. They often require round the clock intensive care to keep them alive (feeding tube, IV fluids) until they begin nursing on their own. The Madigan Foal Squeeze shown here is a technique developed to reenact the birthing process by applying pressure to the rib cage using ropes. The squeeze triggers biochemical changes in the central nervous system that are critical for transitioning the foal from being asleep in the uterus to awake and conscious at birth. The pressure around their torso causes the foal to go into a sound sleep and the squeeze is held for approximately 20 minutes. Once finished, pressure is released and the foal will awaken themselves. Our goal is they search for their mother and are stimulated to nurse. #equinevet #dummyfoal #madiganfoalsqueeze #neonatalmaladjustmentsyndrome #equinefoaling #equinedystocia #newbornfoal #pineridgeequinehospital

Good evening! We are watching regulations in regards to the COVID-19 virus very carefully. In an effort to remain open, and allow clientele access to the facility we are asking you, the trainers, to make sure you keep group lessons to a minimum. In addition, please advise clientele to ride and then leave. It is no longer permitted to linger or hang out and visit. We urge all to keep a 8 to 10ft distance from people regardless if they are sick or not. The veterinary clinic is currently still considered an essential business and all outside clientele are required to keep an 8 to 10ft distance or remain in their vehicle’s. If u have a general need (non-emergency) please call the office and we will do our best to accommodate you in a timely fashion. Our world is in a strange place and it’s hard to understand. As u may know, we have Closed the front barn Restroom today in an effort to keep our veterinary staff safe. Please understand the seriousness of our world. We are here to support all of you. Your health and safety is important to us. It is easy to take for granted the number of people who touch the stall doors, gates and bathroom door handles to name a few. If we suspect and employee is sick they will be asked to stay home, we advise you to follow suit with all clientele.

Respectfully,

Bandalero Ranch

Pre‐foaling vaccinations are an important group of vaccines given to pregnant mares 4‐6 weeks prior to their anticipated foaling date. These vaccines induce an antibody response in the mare and result in the secretion of antibodies in her colostrum. Once the newborn foal ingests the colostrum, these antibodies are absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and enter the newborn’s bloodstream providing a strong foundation for the neonate’s immune system. Ingesting colostrum in the first 12 hours post‐foaling is critical to acquiring these antibodies, as they are too large to cross the placenta while the fetus is in utero and the young foal’s gastrointestinal tract is only able to absorb them for a short period of time. These maternal antibodies provide protection until the foal is old enough to receive its primary series of vaccines and result in a stronger immune response at the time of foal vaccination than in foals from previously unvaccinated mares. Bandalero Ranch is the only place I go to get our mares breed. I have been with Bandalero since they started. The care and professionalism they give is the reason I won’t take our mares anywhere else. I take my 2yr olds to be broke and started with Kenny Collins I am so lucky to have this facility to work with.
