🐾Pets of Vets🐾

This is Dotty she was a loving girl to her veteran dad for 11 years. Dotty was surrendered to us yesterday due to her veteran pawrent becoming unable to care for himself and her. Dotty was left in the apartment alone for approximately 3 days before someone was contacted to care for her. With the help of a community member we were able to convince the veteran to surrender Dotty to allow her to go to a loving sanctuary/adopter that could provide for her aging body.

Dotty is the sweetest girl and is very laid back. She is good with dogs of all sizes and sometimes good with cats. She has no issue being kenneled or lounging around the house.

We have reached out to a doggy sanctuary to see if they’d open their doors to her and if they are able too. She will be transported to them to live out her golden years in style.

These types of situations are an almost a daily occurrence for us as we help in anyway we can.

If you or someone you know is in need of care for their pets feel free to reach out.

P.S the pictures are of the veterans home not mine.

GOLDEN DUO AND PANDA PALS!

Crazy, crazy story. The owners of these dogs were co workers and when I became the panda pals pet sitter I told the pawrent to shoot her shot. Fast forward to July of 2025 where Golden Duos dad announces he will be moving out of Tucson, BUT WAIT! He in fact did not move out of Tucson, but rather temporarily moved in with the panda pals pawrent. Another fast forward and they inform me of their new residence!

Such an amazing journey full of new beginnings, laughs, some tears, and a happy heart that I didn’t lose the golden duo. The golden duo were my first clients when I started and I was so heart broken that they were moving. Their pawrent didn’t even text me to say they weren’t leaving!!!

In the end my time with them is always eventful even more so now that we have some panda pals roaming about.

PENNY APPRECIATION POST!!!! Penny is one of our longest clients and boy is she the best girl ever. She is a cuddle master, a hole connoisseur, and loves to play with the other dogs. When she comes over it’s like she never left except our water bowls mysterious empty 10x faster. 🫣🫣🫣

🐾Pets of Vets🐾

These cuties were in need of a twice a day visit to let them out to potty while their veteran pawrent stayed at the VA for some much needed help. We unfortunately forgot all theirs names, so we will just call them the collective!

The collective was friendly and made sure to protect us during our early morning and late night visits. They made sure to let us know how big and scary they were then melted once food became involved. We had our first hand experience caring for cows which was new to me (very scary). They were all good to me while I provided them their daily hay.

These visits were 45 minutes one way from Tucson to Avra Valley which was a struggle at times, however getting to care for these cuties made the drive feel like they were around the corner. If only it wasn’t a $60 tank of gas in cost!

To further support the veteran we reached out to a colleague in rescue who provided me 5 large bags of dogs food to relief some financial stressors during his recovery!

These cuties, Bo and (I forgot their name), were in need of a spa day to get their nails taken care of. we do not judge people for situations that arise, and would rather help them solve the problem the best we can. We do not allow negative comments nor comments stating that an owner is neglectful/abusive.

Bo is the large pitbull that was desperately in need of nail trim and while he initially did OK, we did have to eventually put a muzzle on him for everyone’s safety. We lucked out with his nails as most of them had a very short quick, allowing us to go further back.

( I forgot his name) was not originally going to get his nails done however, we figured since we were there, we would get them taken care of so that the owner had one less thing to worry about. This cutie allowed us to sit them in our lap like a baby and get all of his nails nice and cleaned up.

The owner expressed financial difficulties and and as such we chose not to charge her for our services now or in the future. It’s not always about the the money for us.

This cutie, Lucifer, needed his nails trimmed because his disabled mom couldn't do them. While this could be considered abuse, we do not judge anyone because everyone is in a situation of their own. We spent an hour trimming and grinding Lucifer's nails until we were unable to go any farther.

The pawrent asked for recommendations, which we gladly gave, and we told her that the next time she was in Tucson, we'd love to continue working on Lucifer's nails until they were the shortest they could be.

🐾Pets of Vets🐾

This cutie, Poketa, was in need of a new place to stay. She was with a veterans nurse, however she wasn’t very happy with chaos leading to her misbehaving. We received a call from the Sierra Vista VA in hopes we could help them as they couldn’t find anywhere for her to go that wouldn’t cause her to be given up. We knew she needed to be moved ASAP and made a call to our mom who happily said yes. We are planning to get up to Tucson for permanent boarding, however thankful we could secure a warm lap in the mean time.

From the initial report she has met the dogs in our mom home without a single issue. She figured out the best place to nap (the recliner) along with needing a warm lap to give her pets. She’s a tiny girl that just needs a calm place to spend time in while her veteran pawrent gets the care she needs.

We can’t do this amazing work for veterans without community support. If you’d like to provide any financial relief we have multiple options listed on our link tree.

🐾Pets of Vets🐾

This cutie, love bug, was spending alone time with only a caring person coming to check in on her once a week. Unfortunately, her pawrent had ended up at the VA and was not going to be able to return home due to a dementia diagnosis. During our arranged pick up time with the caring individual, we saw a “in case of emergency card” for Paws Patrol. We immediately reached out to them and inquired about love bug potentially being adopted from their organization and we lucked out because Lovebug had been adopted from them for two years ago and they 100% wanted to take her back. I asked if they wanted me to drive her down the same day they called and they happily obliged and found a spot for her to decompress.

Without the combined efforts of the VA Social Worker, our organization, the caring individual, and paws patrol love bug may have ended up at overcrowded shelter.

Veteran Embraced Pet Services tries to help in any way that we can to get veterans and their pets that care that they need. If you’d like to support the work that we do, please feel free to provide some financial relief to us.

Pets of Vets is an unincorporated non profit branch of Veterans Embraced Pet Services. This means while we aren’t recognized by the IRS or ACC any financial relief received are used to provide on going care for veterans pets such as veterinary care, pet food, or any other supplies needed. We cover these costs up front for veterans and while we discuss with veterans about reimbursing us sometimes it’s just not financially feasible for them.

If you make a “donation” please include “POV” or “Pets of Vets” so we can allocate these funds to the appropriate accounts.

Current veteran vet balnce: $2,400

🐾Pets of Vets🐾

This cutie, Zeus, was in need of a safe and warm place to hang out at while his pawrent went in for treatment. Zeus is a young pooch that needed a neuter, vaccinations, and his own microchip ($264.00) to help set his pawrent up for success.

Zeus loves to play with the other dogs even when they don’t want to play back. He has learned a lot while being here with boundaries, kennel training, potty training, and door bolting. Zeus loves to be close to us whenever he can and makes to vocalize his dissatisfaction when not allowed to sleep with us.

These cuties; Kremi, Penguin, Chunki and Sooki (not pictured) are a new familia we were honored to care for. We previously provided care for them, then their pawrents went out of town on a longer trip.

Penguin the betta was an easy fish only wanting to be fed his daily pebbles and making sure his tank water wasn’t going to low.

Kremi was a needy girl when it came to her daily hay along with nibble rings we were required to hand feed her. She caused quite the mess in her cage we had to clean it out twice to make sure she was storing to many pebbles.

Chunki was our kitty of the week during our daily visits. He made sure to greet us each time (sometimes we woke him up) to monitor our feeding of his siblings. If we were going to slow for his wet food he’d let us know with a few meows. We gave him lots of belly rubs and head scratches to let him know he was still loved.

Sooki never showed her face during any of our past visits as she preferred to stay in her pawrents bedroom to avoid the “intruder”.

We loved caring for this group of fur babies and can’t wait to see them again.
