Are you making plans to experience the April 2024 total solar eclipse? The eclipse will be safe for your pets as they are unlikely to stare up at the sun but reconsider bringing them outside during the event if you plan on watching with a large crowd of people. The excitement and loud sounds of all the people could cause your pet stress or anxiety.
If you must bring your pet to the eclipse viewing here are some tips:
- Give your pet a break from the crowd so they don’t get too stressed
- Have plenty of fresh water available for your pet
- Ensure your pet is on a leash and have updated contact info on their collar/chip incase they get lost
