On behalf of Heather and Jeremy Howley, whose home was suddenly destroyed to fire in the early hours of November 21st- they are not on facebook and asked that we share their words of thanks:
"To our wonderful community and amazing friends. Thank you!
Our overwhelming loss, has been met with overwhelming support from friends, neighbors and the community. Words cannot express how grateful we are to the first responders and all those that have supported us during this very difficult time. I wanted to say thank you to our next door neighbor for helping to alert us to the fire and making the initial call to 911 to report the fire. We are forever thankful.
Thank you to the Little Egg Harbor Police Department. They were the first to arrive and the last to leave. The support they offered us throughout the night was remarkable and I cannot thank them all enough. Their quick response to ensure we were all out of the house is a testament to their commitment to our community. Thank you for all you do to keep our community safe.
Our sincerest gratitude to Parkertown, Eagleswood, West Tuckerton, New Gretna, Waretown, Barnegat, Stafford, Mystic Island, and Ship Bottom Volunteer Fire Companies, thank you for your dedicated and courageous service. The fire fighters worked tirelessly to find our beloved cats, they never gave up. We appreciate everyone who assisted in the efforts save our home. What you do is so important to our community and we are eternally thankful.
Great Bay EMS Squad 84 provided lifesaving care to all our animals pulled from the fire. The patience and kindness they showed to our animals is more than I can put into words. We cannot say enough to convey our sincere gratitude for all they did.
For those that donated clothes, animal supplies, gift cards, and money; we cannot thank you enough. The outpouring of support is a testimony to the love and kindness of our community.
This community is proof that love and kindness prevail.
A special thanks to our neighbors Emily and James (who walked down and introduced themselves the morning after the fire), you are an inspiration and embody selflessness, kindness, and compassion. We cannot thank you enough for all that you have done for us and our pets. There truly are no words to covey our gratitude. Thank you!!
I would also like to say thank you to our friends The Learys and the Tweers for organizing a Go Fund Me. To all that donated; we cannot begin to thank you enough for your kindness, support and generosity. It has truly made this difficult time easier to bear knowing that we are part of such an amazing community.
For all that donated; please know that all remaining donations will be re-donated to local food pantries, homeless shelters, animal rescues/shelters and any other local groups that are in need of contributions. We appreciate everything the community has done for us. "
