Winning American Bully dogs now commonly display characteristics such as elevated rear stances unless in squat or stretch positions, shorter tails, and gaits with less extension, lesser abilities to breath or handle heat. Some may take offense, prompting comments from newer enthusiasts who consider traditional views as dinosaurs. The focus has shifted exclusively to breed-specific traits, evident in conformation ring winners. Watching videos of these winners confirms this trend. In short, adapting to these changes is essential to remain competitive, and past winning styles is no longer relevant. Comments regarding the written standard really don’t even apply at this point. It is definitely a time for me and my camp to re-evaluate what we want.
