Today marks 6 months since our first flock leader Chocolate Chip left this world. She was sweet, smart, and very curious. Her favorite treat was blueberries. She was named Chocolate Chip because she was a smart cookie, and had little "chocolate chips" on her white feathers. Thank you for being the best leader to your flock and teaching us so much about chicken keeping.

What you can get from a small farm egg carton:

• Extra Small or Fairy Eggs: these are usually a hen's very first egg, they are rare in our cartons but mean we have another adult layer in the flock 🥳

• Small Eggs: these are usually a hens second or third egg, as they are learning how to lay, also very uncommon especially once the hen has been laying for a while 🪺

• Medium and Large Eggs: these are commonly found in our our cartons, think standard grocery store eggs 🥚

• XL Eggs and Jumbo Eggs: these are somewhat common in our cartons, but they are quite astonishing, big eggs can take a hen hours of sitting in the nesting box to lay, so they are much appreciated 🍳

• Double Yolkers: typically only found in our XL and Jumbo Eggs, double yolkers are quite a treat! Two yolks for the price of one, they are the best secret ingredient in baked goods like cakes because the additional yolk gives extra fat and moisture into the baked good, resulting in a more moist and decadent final product (🟡🟡)
