Even before opening the doors in the spring of 2000, Dr. Ryan McCann’s goal was to practice the best possible veterinary medicine while fostering a friendly environment with a highly knowledgeable staff. What began as a small practice with one veterinarian and only a few exam rooms has now been transformed into an 8,600 square foot facility with two full-time doctors offering

everything from routine wellness care to state-of-the-art diagnostics, surgery, cancer care, and even laser therapy.

🚨 Caution: Future giant incoming! 🚨

Meet Frankie — she's currently a fluffy little bean, but don’t be fooled… this girl is on track to become an absolute unit. 💪🐶

She stopped by for her puppy visit and totally charmed assistant Krista (and the rest of us too, honestly). With those paws? That fluff? That face?? We already know she’s going to be huge — in both size and personality.

Can’t wait to see this big girl grow up… and possibly take over the couch, the bed, and probably the whole house. 😂

💉🐾 Puppy vaccines? Check. Unbearable cuteness? DOUBLE check. 🐾💉

Meet Trixie, the absolutely adorable pug puppy who came in to get started on her vaccine series today! 😍

She had us all smiling — especially assistant Julia, who got some extra snuggle time. We’re just not entirely sure where Trixie was looking the whole time... her eyes have a mind of their own! 👀 One thing’s certain though: she’s got the kind of face that melts hearts instantly 💕

🚨 Cuteness Alert from a galaxy not-so-far away! 🚨

Anakin and Chevy (aka Chewie) stopped by for their very first puppy visit, and we’re still recovering from how adorable they are! 🐾💫

Leslie and Kalie were thrilled to meet these two tiny rebels — strong in the Force and even stronger in the snuggle department. If there was a Jedi Order for cuteness, these two would be Grand Masters. 💙

We can’t wait to watch them grow into the legendary pups they’re destined to be. Until then... may the fluff be with you!

🐱💛 July 15 is Feline Leukemia Day 💛🐱
Let’s raise awareness and protect our feline friends from one of the most common infectious diseases in cats — Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV).

🧪 What is FeLV?
FeLV weakens a cat’s immune system, making them more vulnerable to other illnesses. It’s transmissible between cats, especially through grooming, sharing food bowls, or fighting.

🛡️ The good news?
FeLV is preventable with regular testing and vaccination!

💉 At Animal Medical Center of Troy, we recommend:
✔️ Testing all new kittens and adopted cats
✔️ Vaccinating at-risk cats

Meet sweet little Chevelle and her new best friend, RVT Leslie! 💕 This adorable pup came in for her first round of vaccines — a huge step toward a happy, healthy life. 🐾

Vaccines protect puppies like Chevelle from serious (and preventable!) diseases like parvo, distemper, and rabies. Starting early and staying on schedule is the best way to make sure your pup grows up strong and safe.

😺🎥 You won’t bee-lieve what we found!
Say hello to this sweet kitten who came in with a surprise guest... a botfly larva hiding under the skin! 😳🪰 Don’t worry — we safely removed the little intruder, and this kitty is feeling much better now. 🐾💕

Botflies (aka Cuterebra) love to sneak onto outdoor pets, especially adventurous kittens. If your furry friend has a weird lump or tiny hole in their skin, it could be more than just a bug bite!

🐱💬 Moral of the story: check your pets regularly — and leave the icky extractions to the pros. 😉
