Midnight was the kind of dog you never forget — the sweetest shepherd girl with a tennis ball always nearby and a heart completely devoted to her people. If you knew Midnight, you knew fetch wasn’t just a game to her… it was practically a full-time career. Unless hockey was on, of course.

She loved fiercely, loyally, and with the kind of unconditional love only dogs can give. She was the best friend waiting at the door, the teammate for every game of fetch, and the soul that made a house feel like home. Her family says she was the best pet they have ever had, and anyone who met her could see exactly why.

To Midnight’s family, thank you for sharing your beautiful girl with all of us at Blockheads & Bows. She was deeply loved not only by her family, but by her extended pack too. We are holding you close in our hearts as you navigate this heartbreaking loss.

Run free, sweet Midnight. We hope the Rainbow Bridge has endless tennis balls, open fields, and hockey on every TV. 🌈🐾

My favorite southern gentleman, Acre, made an appearance this weekend and I was SO excited to see him again. Rottie smiles are just the cutest thing!

And this time his adorable cousin Bexley joined us for her first visit too! Safe to say she fit right in with the overall B & B pack cuteness effortlessly.

🚨 CASE FILE #404: THE MYSTERY OF THE MISSING SLIPPER 🚨

It has now been several days since one innocent slipper mysteriously vanished Saturday morning. Despite ongoing investigations, the item has still not been recovered.

Authorities quickly identified the primary suspect: Penny.

Witnesses report she was seen fleeing the scene with suspicious confidence, zero remorse, and what can only be described as “main character energy.”

Louis has continued to deny involvement. However, investigators discovered him nearby looking far too cute to prosecute and believe he may have acted as accomplice, lookout, emotional support, or all three.

Penny has refused all requests for comment. Louis continues offering emotional distraction services with his face in an apparent attempt to derail the investigation.

The slipper remains missing.
Authorities are tired.
The suspects remain at large.

Hi. It’s me. Louis. Local legend. Professional good boy. Full-time handsome hunk.

Just wanted to publicly announce that I, in fact, have the *best* Fairy DogMother in existence. Like… elite level. Top tier. Five stars, no notes. She took me and my sissy Penelope to this super cool dog park where it’s safe for distinguished gentlemen with *big feelings* (that’s me, I’m the feelings) to roam free without having to file a complaint about “other dogs existing too loudly.”

And when I tell you… we had the WHOLE pond area to ourselves?? I’m talking private estate vibes. VIP access. No crowds. Just me, my thoughts, and approximately 47,000 very important smells that required immediate investigation. I got all the sniffs my nose could handle. I ran until my legs said “sir, respectfully, absolutely not.” I ignored them. Obviously.

Meanwhile, my sissy Penelope waddled beside me like the supportive queen she is. Not in a rush. Just vibing. Taking in the scenery. Judging me a little. As she should. Anyway, if you need me, I’ll be recovering from my athletic career and reflecting on how I absolutely crushed today.

10/10. Would sniff again. 4/4 paws up for my DogMother.

Despite this weirdly cold and gross weather, May 1st officially kicks off summer season over here and she is already booked and busy!

With daycare launching and overnights booked for 83 out of 100 nights between now and Labor Day weekend, you may notice most weekends are grayed out in the portal. Before anyone panics, that does not mean I’ve disappeared or stopped working weekends! It means I am protecting capacity so I don’t miss anyone’s requests. This year, and especially this summer, visit bookings are on another level compared to the last five years.

📣 If your pet needs care and you can’t get something to schedule, do not give up! Send Dean and I a portal message so we can get them covered. The Pet Pocketbook portal is the only way your pets get on the schedule. If you need help scheduling services there is a “how to” pinned to the top of the FB page! 📣

Also, this is your friendly nudge that Almost Overnights are about to have their big, glow up moment. If your pet needs staycation coverage this summer, it is one of the best ways to lock in coverage during peak chaos season. ALL B & B team members can run almost overnights ensuring there is plenty of attention, silliness and love for your pets!

And because I clearly don’t know how to sit still, another service is coming later this summer. Walks, play dates, overnights, almost overnights and daycare are offered currently…. Wondering what it could be?! Stay tuned 😉

Big news over here at Blockheads & Bows…

My sweet husband Dean Levstek is officially stepping in as co-owner.

You’ve heard me talk about how much this business has grown over the last few years. The truth is, we’ve hit a point where it takes more than just me running full speed 24/7 to keep everything operating at the level our clients expect. Enter Dean.

This summer, you’ll start seeing him more behind the scenes handling administrative tasks, helping keep things organized, and making sure everything runs smoothly on the back end. He will also be working daycare days with Jason and me, getting hands-on with the dogs and learning the flow of what we do every day.

And for those wondering, yes he is starting after school ends for the year ☺️. He’s fully stepping into this next chapter with me and investing his time into growing Blockheads & Bows alongside me.

This is a big move for us personally and professionally, and it’s one we’re really excited about. Same level of care you trust, just with an even stronger team behind it.

This morning we let Ginger/Ginger Ale/Binger/Peaches go.

If you knew her, you know she wasn’t for the weak. Ginger had a personality that could test you on her best day and humble you on her worst. She was stubborn, opinionated, and had absolutely no interest in being anything or anyone other than exactly who she was.

She wasn’t always easy to love, and I think that’s what made loving her mean more. She was a true Leo in every sense of the word. Big energy, big attitude, and somehow always the center of everything. We shared a birthday, which honestly explains a lot.

She became ours a little over 2.5 years ago after we lost Dean’s parents, Dan and Marianne, and we loved her the best we could. And we did, in our own way, through all of her quirks and all of her fire. Dean and I hope there’s some kind of full-circle moment in this, her going back to them and being theirs again.

At the end, it was clear she was tired. And as hard as it was, we chose to give her peace before things got worse. The last thing she knew was that she was wrapped up in my arms, kissing Dean, safe, and she was loved. Fully, completely, and without question.

We will be seeing you El Diablo Blanco, say hey to everyone for us 🩷

This week at Blockheads & Bows:

Long days, full schedules, and a whole lot of personality packed into every visit. From high energy play sessions to dogs living their best lounge-on-the-bed lives, every stop on the schedule reminded me exactly why I do this.

It’s not just quick visits, it’s real relationships, consistency, and care that these dogs rely on every single day. Behind the scenes, it’s constant route planning, time management, and making sure every pet gets the attention they deserve, no matter how busy things get.

Grateful to do what I love every day, and proud of what I’ve built since November 2021.
