Keep in mind this winter 🥶 🐾

Winter is just around the corner and not all dogs have the luxury of living indoors. PLEASE! Be on the lookout for situations where animals may suffer and step in to intercede on their behalf. Here are some Quick Winter dog house tips:
1-turn the house facing away from the direction the wind is blowing (almost always turned south in winter)
2- Only use STRAW or Timothy grass, neither collect moisture and will stay drier. NO blankets, towels, dog beds- they DO collect moisture and make animal colder
3-STUFF the dog house, put more in than you think they need- dogs are denning creatures, they will burrow and bed down in it where they are warm on all sides.
4-PUPPIES can NOT REGULATE their body temperature the way adult dogs can and are especially vulnerable!!
5-Short coated breeds, bullies, Hounds, Boston, Frenchies and Chihuahua are short, thin coated dogs and suffer the most and can not withstand freezing temperatures outdoors. They usually have a low body fat percentage, thin coat and bare bellies.

🐕 DOGS ONLY: 11:30am to 2pm

Low Cost Vaccination, Nail Trim, & Microchip Clinic happening at PALS Thrift Store (131 E. Main St in Trinidad, CO) Saturday October 18th from 10am-2pm. We will be trying something new this time, with cat and dog services held at separate times: Cats from 10am to 11am, Dogs from 11:30am to 2pm. Please take note and be sure to plan accordingly.

This is a first come/first serve event, so please be patient as waits can be expected. CASH is preferred and generally the quickest payment method. We are unable to run credit cards for under $10.

💉 Yearly Vaccinations- FREE courtesy of a grant from Petco Love & PALS
💉 Rabies Vaccinations- $5 courtesy of PALS, administered by Dr. Blanton
✂️ Nail Trims- $5-$10
📍 Low Cost Microchip- $5 includes implantation, in-store registration, and a cool QR scan code tag for your pets collar

🎉🐾 After being one of our longest residents, our sweet boy has finally found his FOREVER HOME! 🏡❤️

We couldn’t be happier to see him start this new chapter with his amazing new dad. A huge thank you to our incredible staff and volunteers who loved and cared for him every single day during his time here—you made this moment possible.
And the biggest thank you goes to his new dad for giving him the chance at the life he’s always deserved. 🥹✨

Happy tails, sweet boy—you’ll always have a piece of our hearts. 💕
