Many think dogs need blankets in the cold, but in unheated outdoor shelters, this can be deadly.
🧽 Wet fabric absorbs moisture and freezes, trapping dogs against icy surfaces.
🥶 Damp blankets conduct heat away from dogs, risking rapid hypothermia.
🌾 Use dry straw instead! It insulates without absorbing moisture, allowing dogs to burrow and stay warm.
The Rule: No heater = no fabric. Fill outdoor shelters with clean straw (not hay) and replace it monthly. This simple switch can save lives every winter.
