🚨 What To Do If Your Pet Goes Missing🚨
It’s every pet parent’s worst fear—but if your furry friend goes missing, taking quick and focused action can help bring them home safely.
Here’s some helpful tips:
🔍 Start searching right away.
Walk or drive through your neighborhood. Bring a leash, treats, and a favorite toy. Call their name calmly and check nearby yards, under porches, garages, and sheds.
📸 Share a recent photo with details.
Post your pet’s picture, name, breed, color, last seen location, and your contact info on your page, in local Facebook groups, and on Nextdoor. Don’t forget to set the post to “public” so others can share it!
🚨 Use PawBoost.
Go to www.PawBoost.com to create a free lost pet alert. PawBoost notifies local shelters, vet clinics, and other pet owners—and helps create printable flyers, too.
📢 Notify local shelters and vets.
Call shelters, rescues, and vet clinics in your area. Drop off or email a flyer with your pet’s photo. If you can, visit shelters in person—descriptions can sometimes be misinterpreted over the phone.
🔑 Check your microchip info.
If your pet is microchipped, make sure your contact info is up to date in the registry. This is one of the quickest ways to reunite.
💛 Stay consistent and don’t lose hope.
Keep checking shelters, updating your posts, and walking the neighborhood. Pets have been reunited with their families days—even weeks—later.
As a animal lover and caretaker, I know how stressful this situation can be. If your pet ever goes missing, I’m here to help however I can—sharing your post, checking shelters, or just offering support.
