Animal Rescue of Tracy Dedicated to the rescue, nurturing and adoption of companion animals In 2003, Animal Rescue of Tracy became a full-fledged, independent, non-profit rescue.

Animal Rescue of Tracy was founded in 1994 to meet an increasing need for compassionate care for abandoned or mistreated pets. In our existence we have rescued, spayed/neutered, and found homes for over 5000 cats and dogs. We rescue animals from the local shelter and work with the public in select abandonment situations. Animal Rescue of Tracy supports Trap, Neuter, and Release of feral cats howev

er we are not a feral cat rescue. All feral cat concerns should be directed to the City of Tracy Animal Services Department. Animal Rescue of Tracy encourages the spay/neuter of all cats and dogs and does outreach to educate the Community about its benefits.

ABANDONED SAFEWAY KITTENS UPDATE….

So many people followed the RESCUE of these 5 “itty bitties” that we wanted to share an update from their Foster Mom. There are 3 medium to long hair & 2 short hair, 2 girls and 3 boys.

They are 4 weeks old today and are doing well. They are all using the litterbox. Their Upper Respiratory Infection is almost gone and they are on week 2 of their 5 week ringworm treatment. We are still looking at 6-8 weeks minimum to finish treating the ringworm and being cleared, then starting vaccines and getting fixed BEFORE they can be adopted.

Here are some pictures to help you understand what our Rescue can do AND why we need community support to continue our efforts. Without amazing Fosters, Adopters, DONORS and SPONSORS we can’t save lives like these “littles”.

We’re excited to report that 7 cats/kittens and 2 dogs found their furever homes this past week.

Pictured are: Mandarin, Dipstick, Matilda, Mary and Alvin. Our “camera shy” cats/kittens were: Gucci, Casino & Nabisco & “good boy” Cocoa.

We have so many more adoptable cats/kittens AND CASH waiting for their “furever” homes. Mark your calendars to meet them next Saturday 11-4 & Sunday 12-4 at our Adoption Fair inside the West Valley Mall.

This past weekend we unveiled a plaque on our Guardian Angel Wall in memory of Lena Flanary, Adoption Fair Coordinator. Lena left us on July 10, 2026. She is missed every day by her ART family.

When you are at our weekend Adoption Fair, you will see our Guardian Angel Wall directly across from the main desk. There are ART volunteers like Lena, family members, “furbabies” and even Actress Betty White with plaques on this Wall. Anyone can DONATE to ART in memory of a loved one and with a minimum donation of $150. For more info go to our website: www.animalrescuetracy.org.

HAPPENED THIS WEEK:

6 lucky “furbabies found homes.

5 “furbabies” were SAVED from a dumpster.

5 “furbabies” were SAVED from a box in the Safeway parking lot. They are being treated for Ringworm & Upper Respiratory Infection.

2 “furbabies” were SAVED after bring found in a car engine. They travelled over the Altamont Pass and came into ART in a cardboard box. It’s a young Mom still nursing 1 kitten. (Yet another reason to FIX cats/kittens.)

1 tiny “furbaby” with no Mom found in a sewer drain still needing to be bottle fed.

RESCUES never take a break because there are so many “furbabies” needing help.

We are now over 160 cats/kittens in Rescue looking for homes. Are YOU ready to ADOPT a loving “furbaby” into your home? If not, how about being a FOSTER? Or make a DONATION to help us care for these “furbabies” in our care?
