Dedicated to the rescue, nurturing and adoption of companion animals In 2003, Animal Rescue of Tracy became a full-fledged, independent, non-profit rescue.

Animal Rescue of Tracy was founded in 1994 to meet an increasing need for compassionate care for abandoned or mistreated pets. In our existence we have rescued, spayed/neutered, and found homes for over 5000 cats and dogs. We rescue animals from the local shelter and work with the public in select abandonment situations. Animal Rescue of Tracy supports Trap, Neuter, and Release of feral cats howev

er we are not a feral cat rescue. All feral cat concerns should be directed to the City of Tracy Animal Services Department. Animal Rescue of Tracy encourages the spay/neuter of all cats and dogs and does outreach to educate the Community about its benefits.

On June 12, 2026, Animal Rescue of Tracy Volunteers, Community Representatives, friends & family gathered to recognize the commitment of 10 high school students who completed ART’s 9 month Compassion To Action Internship Program. This youth mentorship program requires high school students to volunteer every weekend caring for adoptable cats & dogs looking for homes while at weekend adoption fairs inside the West Valley Mall or as Cat Cuddlers at the Petsmart Adoption Center throughout an entire school year.

Also present were Delores Alvarez, representing Taylor Farms & GFWC Tracy Woman’s Club President Tiffany Evans & First Vice President Carla Thatcher. Both these amazing organizations/businesses have sponsored the Compassion to Action Internship Program over the 5 years it has existed.

We are so excited that ELEVEN kitties found their “furever” homes this weekend, plus one of our “Ohana” puppies midweek. This allowed us to bring into Rescue a number of “itty bitties” including 2 found in the engine of a car parked at the West Valley Mall, 1 found roaming the Walmart parking lot and 2 returned thru no fault of theirs.

THANK YOU to these wonderful families for opening their hearts & homes and promising to LOVE these deserving “furbabies”.

We’re celebrating BEST FRIENDS DAY by sharing pictures of 5 lucky Kittens and their new BEST FRIENDS and the sweetest young ladies who DONATED almost $50 to Animal Rescue of Tracy — proceeds from their Lemonade Stand. This amazing donation to help us care for the over 150 cats/kittens & dogs/puppies in our care make them BEST FRIENDS to all our “furbabies” waiting for homes.
