🐾 Meet Howard! 🐾

Howard is a sweet, lovable guy who is estimated to be 3 years old and weighs about 16 pounds. While we may not know much about his past, we know he’s ready to find a family of his own! We believe he is a Yorkie mix.

Howard has an amazing personality that will win you over in no time. He loves being with his people and will happily follow you from room to room just to keep you company. Whether you’re working around the house or relaxing on the couch, Howard wants to be right by your side.

At bedtime, this cuddle bug’s favorite place is snuggled up in bed with you. He’s affectionate, loving, and always ready for some extra pets and attention.

Howard gets along well with other dogs, does fine in a kennel, and is doing very well with his house training. Most of all, he’s just an incredibly sweet dog who wants a family to love.

Look at beautiful Thimbletack- a gorgeous Siamese.

Thimbletack would like to file a complaint. That complaint? A cat as perfect as he is doesn’t have a home to call his own. Foster Mom and Foster Dad are cool and all, but they remind him daily he is only visiting (which we have to do to remind ourselves he, unfortunately, cannot stay here forever). It’s completely unfair, because his foster cat siblings are his new best friends, the foster dog siblings are fun to play with, and he knows there’s always a haphazard pile of blankets to cuddle up on here. His standards aren’t high—a warm body to snuggle with in the evenings, a four legged friend or two to play with during the day. He isn’t even scared of the automatic letterbox so a future guardian wouldn’t even have to scoop up after him if they prefer.

He somehow ended up in a home full of bookworms for now, but he’s quite responsible and doesn’t climb bookshelves. Counters are another story. If it’s reading time, he’s the first one to sidle up and inconveniently block pages. If the TV is on, though, it’s playtime. He romps and zooms with his foster brothers like it’s what he’s alwaysq done, but will also play gargoyle statues with his foster sisters. He isn’t much for independently occupying himself with toys as he prefers to play with someone. Foster Dad also reports he is a model employee for a work from home gig and constantly pipes up with valuable input during meetings.

Thimbletack thinks he lived indoors before he found his way to TAAR. He knows house rules, how to socialize with dogs and cats, human food is not to be stolen off of plates, hot stove = danger. Still working on leave the wax melt warmers alone, but he likes to smell beautiful and he is tolerant of the grooming and baths that ensue.

A cat as cool as Thimbletack is too good to be true, right? Oh wait, he’s also gorgeous. A perfectly toasted marshmallow with crystal blue eyes that aren’t even crossed.

As Foster Mom, I have to truly beg that someone comes along and adopts this guy sooner rather than later. The longer he is here, the more I fall in love. His only “flaw” I am able to find is his fascination with floral scented candles and wax melts. He is sweet, social, well behaved, and almost ready to find someone to become a burnt marshmallow with. He’s never met a stranger, so it won’t take any time at all for him to become your best friend. And for the low, low price of your entire heart, he could be yours.

He is current on vaccinations, neutered and FELV/FIV negative.

He will be adopted out as a house cat.

Leo is a 2-year-old Terrier/Shih Tzu mix who came to us as a stray and has quickly stolen everyone’s heart!

This handsome little guy loves to cuddle and be close to his people. When he’s not snuggled up beside you, you’ll likely find him looking for a playmate. Leo gets along well with cats and absolutely loves to wrestle and play with other dogs—big or small, he’s happy to make new friends!
Leo is house trained, crate trained, and is proving to be a smart boy. He’s already learned to sit politely before taking a snack and is eager to continue learning.

Betty is a 2 year old Yellow Lab who is just a love! She is so good with people and other dogs! She is absolutely frightened of guns so she will not be a hunting dog and can’t be around areas where there is gunfire or probably even fireworks. Just the sight of a gun scares her.
She’s current on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative. She is house trained and crate trained.
She will be adopted out as a house dog.

This sweet boy, who has been named Tait, showed up at an acreage with many wounds and missing part of his leg. Surprisingly with all of his injuries and everything he still is as sweet as can be! The veterinarian has determined that he does need to have at least a partial amputation done on his rear leg. He has been started on pain meds.

Surprise expenses can really hit the bank account as you all know. But we weren’t going to let this boy continue to be in pain so we said yes to helping him.

We sure would appreciate any help towards his vetting expenses. Join Team Tait and help this sweet boy feel better!

NEW DOGS ARE HIGH RISK

The Double Leashing Rule and The Rule of Threes are great guidelines!

* Double leash with martingale collars and no-pull harnesses until you’re sure she understands where she belongs.

The Rule of Threes:
* Three Days: 24/7 at home, on leash and no visitors. He won't feel punished, just safe!
* Three Weeks: Leashed in the yard, and never outside unattended. Neighborhood walks only, double-leashed.
* Three months: Gradually introduce new people, places and experiences.

Adjust these practices to your situation. Many high-risk dogs will always be fearful and require extra care. Others may seem “At-home” seemingly overnight!
