📣 Columbia MD- Violet is home and safe after one week on the run!

This beautiful coonhound got loose and began her adventure, running around the neighborhoods and showing up on ring cameras. As it turned out, her mom was out of town so a couple of friends jumped in to try and help. Thankfully, they knew not to chase her but to let her settle.
Joanna & Liza you ROCK!

Rachel M designed a flyer, and then reached out to LARG for trapping help. Once we received all of the needed information, the real work started. We needed the XL trap, so our dream team of Francine and Phil jumped in, getting that trap out there on Friday July 4th. That night we trapped a cat. The next night a hungry raccoon was in there & Violet actually came by — we were so happy to see her there!

Yesterday she visited in the afternoon, but only went halfway in and backed out. We knew we had to make the food even more irresistible—Francine refreshed the food and at 11:30pm our girl finally gave in & we GOT HER! 🎉

Thanks going out to this amazing rescue community. When we work together, we can do great things!

Please, protect your pets at all costs. Even the ones who never leave your side will bolt when scared by a loud noise. We see it every. single. day.

📣 Laurel, MD - Patrick is safe! 🥰

Little Patrick the tripod was being fostered by Chad for Small Miracles rescue. Being a very skittish & fearful dog, Patrick escaped through a small hole in the fence when he saw an opportunity!

The nearby wooded Savage Park area is a very popular local hiking spot, and apparently Patrick had heard about it, because he began a two week long hiking adventure.

Karen from Small Miracles jumped in to help, a few sightings came in, flyers went up, and a feeding station and a trap were set in the area. No sightings on the camera for several days! 👀 We stayed hopeful because the area he had settled in was not near any major roads and the weather was not extreme. It was definitely going to be one of those cases that is an exercise in patience and faith!

After two weeks (with a few random sightings, including once when Chad was hiking in the woods and Patrick actually followed him for part of the way before skipping off and continuing his adventure), we decided to move forward with a drone search with First Response Drone Pet Search & Rescue. Of course, the night before we planned to search, there was Patrick on the camera, and then in the trap! We think he finally decided that his hike had gone on too long, and he really wanted someplace comfy and soft to sleep 💤

Patrick has returned to the rescue to get checked out, and hopefully soon he’ll have a forever home. We believe that he will always be a high flight risk who requires a special adopter to keep him safe! Inquire about Patrick at Small Miracles Cat and Dog Rescue in Ellicott City. 🐾😊

📣 Woodstock MD, Baltimore County - this pup is now safe from the cold!

Does anyone recognize this sweet but emaciated Little Girl? 🐾

She was being seen on Marriottsville Road in the woods, but wouldn’t come to anybody. Erin E Johnson made a post and sent the location.

She was so skinny and in this cold it wasn’t a good situation so they reached out to Lost Animal Resource Group - LARG & Bob Swensen for help.

Bob brought a trap immediately and when he got there, he was looking for her and she was very barky, probably being protective and scared.

Bob quickly set the trap, and all of a sudden Kelly Granahan who volunteers at BARCS showed up to help. We set the trap and then saw that she was about 50 feet away so we moved the trap closer and she came running towards us so we kept our distance. As we were moving the trap, the door was closed.

The trap already had liquid smoke and royal Farms chicken in it, but it wasn’t set - and she sniffed all around it. Not wanting to push her to react, Bob pulled his van next to the trap and quickly set it and retreated.

She tried to get to the food from the back, but eventually figured out she had to go through the door.

It didn’t take her long to go in and when the door closed, she didn’t even blink. (video In comments)
As we lifted her into the van, she was nervous, but as we fed her yummy food, she relaxed a little and Angelica Kim stopped by and brought more yummy food.

In the van and out to Baltimore County Animal Services and she was nervous and barking while she was in the trap, but there were also several people around, which made her nervous. Once inside and the door to the trap was open, she came out very nicely, had a very relaxed body language and was taking treats and even sat for us.

BCAS will take good care of her. Unknown if she has a chip, but had no other identification.
