🦠What is leptospirosis?
Leptospirosis is a bacteria infection that can cause illness, including liver and kidney failure.
💧It is commonly spread through contaminated water (like puddles and floodwater), stagnant pond water and urine from rodents such as 🐀, 🦝, and 🦌.
💧While cats can contract it, this is extremely rare. Dogs are the most vulnerable.
💧It is also zoonotic, meaning it can spread to humans 🤒 - particularly risky for children, the elderly, or anyone immunocompromised.
