Le Manx
Originaire de l’île de Man, le Manx est une race ancienne issue d’une mutation naturelle ayant entraîné l’absence de queue. Cette particularité s’est développée au sein d’une population isolée de chats, et la race fait partie des premières reconnues par les organisations félines, dont la FIFe.
💛 Caractère :
Affectueux, loyal et très attaché à son humain.
Il apprécie la compagnie et suit volontiers son propriétaire au quotidien.
Intelligent et joueur, il peut rapporter des objets et s’entend bien avec les autres animaux.
👀 Apparence :
Chat au corps compact et puissant, avec une silhouette arrondie.
Poitrine large, musculature développée et pattes arrière longues donnant une grande capacité de saut.
Tête expressive, oreilles légèrement inclinées vers l’extérieur.
🏆 Expositions :
Classé en Catégorie 3 (poils courts) dans les expositions FIFe.
La variété à poil mi-long est reconnue sous le nom de Cymric.
🏠 Entretien :
Entretien classique, avec une attention adaptée selon la variété (poil court ou mi-long).
Race active nécessitant un environnement stimulant.
🩺 Santé :
Race globalement saine, avec un travail de sélection rigoureux des éleveurs, incluant l’utilisation de tests génétiques et le suivi des recherches actuelles.
🎨 Particularité :
Le Manx se distingue par ses différentes longueurs de queue :
• Rumpy (sans queue)
• Rumpy Riser (très courte)
• Stumpy (≤ 3 cm)
• Longie (queue plus longue, importante en élevage)

Originating from the Isle of Man, the Manx is an ancient breed resulting from a natural mutation that led to the absence of a tail. This characteristic developed within an isolated cat population, and the breed is among the first to have been recognized by feline organizations, including FIFe.
💛 Temperament:
Affectionate, loyal, and very attached to its human.
It enjoys companionship and will happily follow its owner around.
Intelligent and playful, it can fetch objects and gets along well with other animals.
👀 Appearance:
A cat with a compact and powerful body, featuring a rounded silhouette.
Broad chest, well-developed muscles, and longer hind legs providing great jumping ability.
Expressive head with ears slightly tilted outward.
🏆 Shows:
Classified in Category 3 (shorthair) in FIFe shows.
The semi-longhair variety is recognized as the Cymric.
🏠 Care:
Standard care, with attention adapted to the coat type (short or semi-longhair).
An active breed that requires a stimulating environment.

A generally healthy breed, thanks to the careful work of breeders, including the use of genetic testing and ongoing research.
