I’ll be honest there’s alot of topics I would love to cover. Dog training has never been and will never be just obedience.
Dog training is understanding your dog in and out. Understanding body language, the little nuances (like even something as simple as petting your dog when they’re scared or coddling them when they “fall down” can cause issues), it’s setting them up for success at the vet, exposing not socializing, pressure and release with a tool or your body, it’s supporting their needs by utilizing building their drives, it’s letting them BE DOGS.
Talking to me about dogs is a dangerous topic. I could talk for hours. I could talk about how certain names are ruining the industry, how certain names are ruining the sports (especially anything involving bite work), how the obesity problem in the dog world is concerning, how the lack of education in this country is becoming more obvious and detrimental.
All in all I have alot to say. A lot I want to teach. A lot of people I want to help, and even more dogs I want to help.
I want sports to be accessible to everyone, not just a select few. I want owners to have the full relationship with their dog and watch them progress, not just sit on a couch.
I’m thankful to those that listen and hope overtime I can help educate those curious.
