With a heavy heart I must let TRK9 friends and family know of the sudden loss of our dearest Kita. During the evening hours she suffered a Pericardial effusion, which is fluid build up around the heart. She went into cardiac arrest and passed away within minutes of showing breathing difficulty. She was pronounced at an emergency vet and they performed a quick ultrasound to determine a cause, since we have another dog and I needed to know if this was a poison situation. They saw a large mass in her chest that was likely cancerous. Other than occasional stomach upset there were no outward signs of an issue. Kita was in training for BarnHunt and was still loving life. I was by her side when she passed. She will be laid to rest next her best buddy Juno, who passed in December.
