Charlie is back!  This is disgraceful, his owners surrendered him after five years let him sit in the shelter. It was on the euthanasia list in November. Then demanded him back when we had an adopter at the shelter. They made a scene to where they were uncomfortable and left and now they found out. He has cancer and dumped him again.

He is now on the euthanasia list and has 72 hours. Is there someone out there that would just offer him a roof over his head and in bed for the time that he may have left so at least he will know what real love is.??

UPDATE ON SWEET ALBIE 💙

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT HAS DONATED SO FAR, WE WILL BE DONATING $500 TODAY TO ACCESS!!!!

Albert is still stable, but there isn't much improvement yet.

However the fact that he hasn't declined, or DIED, is key! With a traumatic brain injury so much can go wrong. The fact that his fighting, he's holding on is everything even if the progress is minimal.

BUT!
Albie had a visitor yesterday and it was one of our sweet Albie opened his eyes and noticed her, he gave her a kiss on the nose! And then zonked out and snored for the remainder of the visit. This is HUGE. He's out of it most of the time but conscious enough to want to give a kiss and be a sweet boy!

And that's what kills me in all this. Pugs just want LOVE. They love and want love, they LIVE for human relationships (food a close second). Anyone that can look at a sweet dog wagging his tail and hurt it, cannot be human. His doctor said that his recovery will be SLOW. And we don't know to what degree he will recover. The brain is a complex organ and we just don't know the extent of the damage done to him.

This won't be an overnight miracle. But in a sense already is. He could have already died by now.

The doctor did mention that maybe a FOSTER HOME for a few days, he might be more comfortable.

And THANK YOU for donating to his care! Thank you for buying him this extra time at the hospital ICU to heal!

ALBIE UPDATE 💙

Albie is stable.
He is NOT DECLINING. 🙏

If anything, he is improving slightly!
He is more mentally appropriate today - he's making eye contact with the doctor when she examines him, AND he's trying to MOVE a little. He still can't stand or walk but he's trying! They got him the lift / support harness to try to get him to stand a little and have began range of motion exercises.

I know it's such small steps - making eye contact, trying to move his legs - but it's absolutely a step in the right direction with his brain injury! He's also eating and drinking on his own - they literally could not get a catheter in him yesterday so he's on oral meds as well, and tolerating that.

So overall I think Good News don't you agree?

Praying that with a couple more days in the hospital he will continue to get stronger. I know it's expensive but it's necessary to save his life!

Friend & Clients - As some of you may know I am an animal advocate and have worked in rescue on and off for over 15 years. It has always been something that pulls at my heart strings, and especially in when an animal has been neglected or suffered abuse.

This particular pug named Alvie  has spoken to me, and what he has endured no animal should be unused in this manner. This pug was found in the rain and left out in the cold, and no one would help him instead a woman beat him so hard over the head with a broom handle that it broke.

A pug rescue has jumped into action, made the trip to Fresno and has transferred him to Access in Culver City.

ALBIE IS ALL CHECKED IN. 🙏
He's at ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital in Culver City. A 24 hour ER with a great Neurology team that is assess him.

He's critical. He is still very weak & cannot stand on his own. But he's in the best place to have the best chance of surving this head trauma. We will know more tomorrow.

Right now, we need prayers for this precious boy 🙏.

The ER doctor said that with such head trauma Albie will either begin to improve ... or decline. Let's pray very hard for improvement!!!

They are doing everything possible to give him the opportunity to survive this. This precious boy deserves to know what love is.
