Just like us, our pets need plenty of water to stay healthy during the hot summer months. Dehydration can happen quickly, especially when temperatures rise.

Here are a few simple ways to help keep your pets hydrated:

💧 Provide fresh, cool water at all times
💧 Place water bowls in multiple locations around your home and yard
💧 Encourage breaks from outdoor play during the hottest parts of the day
💧 Add ice cubes or offer pet-safe frozen treats for extra cooling
💧 Watch for signs of dehydration, including excessive panting, dry gums, lethargy, or loss of appetite

A well-hydrated pet is a happier, healthier pet! 🐾

If you have questions about your pet's hydration needs or notice signs of heat stress, give us a call. We're here to help!

🦟 It only takes ONE bite.

One mosquito carrying heartworms can put your pet at risk for a serious and potentially life-threatening disease.

Heartworms live in the heart, lungs, and blood vessels of infected pets, causing damage that can impact their health and quality of life. The good news? Heartworm disease is much easier to prevent than it is to treat.

Heartworm prevention helps protect your pet from a disease that starts with a single mosquito bite. We have monthly prevntion options or a yearly injection!

Not sure if your pet is up to date on heartworm prevention? Give us a call—we're happy to help make sure your furry family member stays protected all season long. ❤️🐾

⚠️ Bobcat Fever in Cats: What Every Cat Owner Should Know

Bobcat fever (cytauxzoonosis) is a serious, often fatal disease in cats caused by a parasite spread through tick bites—most commonly the lone star tick.

Even indoor/outdoor cats can be at risk if a tick makes its way inside or attaches during brief outdoor exposure.

Early signs can look mild but progress quickly:
• Lethargy or sudden weakness
• Not eating
• Fever
• Difficulty breathing
• Pale or yellow gums
• Rapid decline in condition

This is a true medical emergency—cats can go from “just a little off” to critically ill in a short period of time.

Prevention is key:
✔ Year-round tick prevention
✔ Regular tick checks (especially around ears, neck, and between toes)
✔ Prompt removal of any ticks
✔ Keep cats indoors or supervised outdoors when possible

If you ever notice sudden illness in your cat after possible tick exposure, don’t wait—seek veterinary care immediately.

Your quick action can make all the difference. 🐾
