“Truck cat lost at Lawrence Service Plaza
I know this is a long shot, but I was taking my 10hr at the Lawrence Service Plaza and sometime between 9pm last night (May 29th) and when i woke up a little before 4am this morning, my cat got the windows down in my truck and got out. I've never had issues with him doing something like this before, and I just spent the last couple hours walking around the area calling for him. I have his carrier and catnip treats/his food out next to my truck in case he returns before my dispatch makes me roll, they've given me the day to look but I know if I can't find him, I might be forced to roll without him. I'm asking that if any of yall are passing through this service area, please keep an eye out for my little baby. His name is Lupon, and he's a 3 year old grey cat with greenish eyes and a notched ear. I'll add a picture of him too to help identify him. I'm begging yall, please keep an eye out for him if you're in the area, he's really sweet but he's skittish around strangers and I'm so worried for him right now.
Update: Hey, I really appreciate yall wanting to help, so so much, but the Love's has asked me to ask yall not to call the store. They have my number and know what Lupon looks like, but the calls are making it hard to get customer calls that aren't about Lupon. Again, I really really appreciate the desire to help but I don't want to interfere with their call lines. They aren't able to let me post flyers without permission from corporate (don't harass them please, i used to work retail and sometimes rules are tough to follow in cases like this, the staff was very sympathetic), I'll be calling Love's corporate as soon as business hours begin on Monday so please avoid calling them. The McDonald's was able to take a few flyers to give/show to customers, but they are also unable to allow me to put them up without corporate approval. If you do see him, my phone number is (985)-217-2994. He's skittish with strangers so please don't chase him, just call me 🙏
Update 2: I'm still at the service plaza, but I'm limited to checking the live trap for the moment due to slipping and falling down a ditch last night while out looking for Lupon. I'm okay, but I think I may have sprained my leg somewhat and it's difficult to do more than slowly hobble over to the trap and back (especially having to climb in and out of the truck). Still no word from my dispatch about whether they can swap me out for an empty trailer or not, which is a little worrying, but I suppose no response is better than being forced to roll (especially now with my leg being a bit banged up).
UPDATE!!: Someone has STOLEN the live trap I put out for Lupon. I moved it to the dumpster by the McDonald's around noon today and have been checking it every hour. Talking with the McDonald's to get ahold of the camera footage, but if anyone saw anything please let me know.”
