The Canine Academy is currently offering in-home based training. We can help with a number of things such as puppy training, basic obedience, off-leash training, and behavior modification. ✨ Meet Rory ✨
This Great Pyrenees / Black Mouth Cur / Catahoula mix has been with me in private lessons since July, and now he’s here for his two-week puppy board & train.

Rory’s a little insecure, and right now his default response to the world is… bark. 🚲 A bicycle across the street? Bark. 🚪 A door squeak? Bark. 🐶 Another dog barking? Bark. Even his own bark on video set him off.

That reactivity tells me his nervous system is working overtime. My focus with him here will be on calming his mind through structure—crate work, place, and teaching him how to regulate instead of react.

It may take the full two weeks, and that’s okay. Progress for pups like Rory is about building clarity and calm one rep at a time. 🐾💛

🐾 Piper Girl 🐾

I’ve known this sweet face since she was just a puppy, and now she’s almost 4 years old. 🥹 Every time she comes back, it’s like catching up with an old friend — except this one has four paws and a tail that never stops wagging.

Piper stayed with me for a few boarding visits over the past week, and as always, she fit right back into our routine like she never left. She even got a little spa time — a good brushing and a trim on her “Grinch feet” — and plenty of ball time with her buddy Stevie. 🎾

She’s completely well-trained, but I love that she still comes back for refreshers and time here. Watching a dog grow from puppyhood to adulthood and still being part of their life? That’s the best part of this job. ❤️

You need to lead them out of chaos and into calm.

Most dogs that “misbehave” aren’t trying to be defiant…
They’re overwhelmed, overstimulated, or unclear. Maybe, bottom line— they just don’t know any better because we as owners haven’t done our job to the fullest.

Clarity is what helps a dog exhale.
Structure is what helps them trust.
And your calm presence? That’s what changes everything.
