Was a bit of a crazy long day yesterday with the sisters, but seems to all be settled and okay now. Started with red going in to get her pregnancy xrays on Monday and finding out she wasn't pregnant and likely had pyometra. She was acting her same self, super playful and energetic. She went in for a emergency spay yesterday morning and got home around 4pm. Turns out it wasn't pyo yet but she was pregnant with 4 babies that must have passed super early and they caught it before it became a problem. She's doing good and recovering now.
So then not to long after dropping red off for surgery, blue finally started her labor after being a few days over due. She was very slow with contractions like her previous birth but was able to have the kittens easier this time (even with them being huge this time). She was going hours between kittens but also not contracting much. My vet tech friend even came by for a bit to help, while Karen went to pick up red from surgery. She had 3 kittens by about 3:30pm but knew she had at least 2 more from her xray. She then stopped contracting and took a long break until about 1:30am and popped out 2 back to back by herself. I could feel at least one more wiggling in her, but she had stopped contracting again. She finally had number 6 at around 10am this morning and think she's finally done? The babies this time are super strong and nursing and bickering like crazy so fingers crossed. π€ We have 2 boys (chocolate spotted tabby, and a red) and 4 girls ( 2 lilac torties, a blue, and a black or possible dark chocolate).
