UPDATE: I started Rooney on phenobarbital last Monday. Her symptoms slowly progressed throughout the week. The Vet said the symptoms would most likely be intense the first few weeks then hopefully taper off. She has loss of coordination and incontinence (I was trying diapers but didn’t love them) I started her on incontinence medication so fingers crossed they help. Ive been using a harness so I can help steady her when shes walking. I’ve also moved rugs around to help her walk through the house without slipping. The Vet used alcohol as an analogy for all the seizure medication and essentially she’s at the tequila level lol Which is apropos because right now she’s a little bit like taking care of a drunk person. I got her a yak chew to give her something to do and keep her from going crazy.

Throwback Series!- I found on a job site that doesn’t even exist anymore! The description of the job sounded almost too good to be true but I applied anyway. When I went to the interview there were SIX people interviewing me (Other dog professionals and some of their employees at the time) I remember half way through the interview a woman asked me if I knew what the job entailed and if I even knew what pack walking was- I didn’t. I figured that was it. I’m the dummy who came to the job interview not even understanding the position. But alas Rachel and Andrew took a chance on me and I got the job ❤️

Throwback Series!- I had quit my job working at Sugar Fish and wasn’t entirely sure what to do next. I was on Rover getting booked here and there. I had one consistent client (Enzo and Luca) I would go to their house once a day for an hour and walk them or play in the yard. This had been the happiest I had felt in awhile so I decided to start my own dog walking business. I called it “Dog Days Dog Walking” -a mouthful to say the least 🤦🏼‍♀️

Lately I’ve been reflecting on my time in LA- how lucky I was to be brought into this beautiful world of practicing the art of understanding dogs. The weather in Ohio is yucky and unpredictable so I figured it would be perfect to do a throwback series for a little while!
