We LOVE bacon as much as the next person… and if our pups could talk, we’re pretty sure they’d agree! 😂🥓

But here’s the not-so-tasty truth: bacon isn’t a reliable or healthy everyday snack for dogs. It’s high in fat and salt, and too much can lead to some very unhappy tummies. 😬

Today, we’re thrilled to celebrate Kelci’s 8th anniversary with Tipp to Tail! 🎉🐾

From her early days in daycare and lodging to her current role as a full-time day trainer with her CPDT-KA certification, Kelci has shown incredible dedication, growth, and passion for our canine guests.

This past year has brought another exciting milestone as Kelci, alongside our other day trainer, Megan, helped launch our Board & Train program here at Tipp to Tail! Their hard work, knowledge, and commitment have helped turn this new program into an exciting addition to the training services we offer our clients and their dogs.

Kelci’s commitment to helping dogs thrive—both behaviorally and emotionally—is evident in everything she does. Whether she’s working one-on-one with a dog, helping our team, or teaching a pup something new, Kelci always gives her all.

Today we're shining a light on some of the most misunderstood members of the feline family — beautiful black cats! ✨

For centuries, black cats have been unfairly tangled up in superstitions and old myths. But here's the truth: they're just as loving, playful, cuddly, and full of personality as cats of any other color. That sleek black coat and those gorgeous glowing eyes? Pure elegance. 🖤

Sadly, those old myths come with a real cost — black cats tend to be adopted less often and spend more time waiting in shelters than cats of other colors. That's exactly why days like today matter. The more we celebrate these gorgeous companions, the more we help them find the loving homes they deserve. 🏡

This Sunday we're honoring St. Roch — the patron saint of dogs — and the timeless bond between people and their pups. 💛

As the story goes, St. Roch was a nobleman who gave up everything to care for the sick during a devastating plague. When he fell ill himself and retreated to the woods, he wasn't alone for long. A loyal dog found him, bringing him food each day and tending to his wounds — nursing him back to health. That faithful companion is why, centuries later, we remember St. Roch as the patron saint of dogs. 🐶

It's a story that captures what so many of us already know: dogs have a way of showing up for us, loving us, and healing us in ways we never expect. 🐾

Everybody loves a social butterfly… but this handsome 7-year-old mixed-breed gentleman? He’s more of a “quiet night in, slow stroll, and let’s get to know each other” kind of guy. 🥹🐶

He might not be the pup sprinting over to greet everyone, but give this shy boy a little time, patience, and love, and you’ll get to see his sweet and loyal side shine. ❤️

✨ His ideal day:
🐾 A nice leisurely walk
🛋️ A cozy place to relax
🌿 A peaceful environment
🤎 Someone who understands that trust takes time

🐾 TRAINING TUESDAY: LOOK AT ANNIE GO! 🐾

From “What’s a down?” to “I’ve got this!” 😎👏

When Annie started her Board & Train stay, she was working hard to master her down. Fast forward just TWO WEEKS… and WOW. 🤩

Not only did Annie nail her down, but with the help of our amazing trainers, she also took her skills to the next level with mat training! 🧘‍♀️🐶

And this isn’t just a quiet room with zero distractions… this is Annie calmly laying on her mat outside, in a busy environment, with distractions happening all around her. 🌳🚶‍♀️🐕🚗

THAT is the magic of training. ✨

Training isn’t about making your dog “perfect.” It’s about building communication, confidence, focus, and skills that can actually translate into everyday life. And sometimes, seeing that lightbulb moment click is the BEST part! 💡❤️

So if you’ve been thinking, “Maybe we should work on some training…” — lean into it! Your pup is capable of SO much more than you might think. 🐾
