Bighead the 2-year-old American Bully mix loves lunging and pulling at everything from dogs, garbage, cars, people, little critters, etc. to the point that he's choking himself on leash and dragging his owner around on walks. He'd love to go more places on adventures, but first he needs basic obedience skills and impulse control. You can do it, Bighead!! 😁💕

Cookie the 4-year-old Mini Aussie is observant and energetic, but she also tends to bark up a storm around people she doesn’t know. She’s been working on her obedience skills and is making great progress. Keep it up, Cookie!! 🍪 🥰

Loki's pretty relaxed and lazy around the house, but on walks, he is a "menace." One time, he LITERALLY dislocated his mom's shoulder from pulling so hard! 😱🙈

He means well and is super friendly, but between chasing the delivery guy across the yard and barking at other dogs, he can come on a little strong. We're excited to help him practice polite manners and make walks safer for everyone! Welcome, Loki!!

Meet Cookie, the 4-year-old Mini Aussie! 🍪🐾

Cookie tends to think of everyone as an intruder until proven otherwise, which means she'll BARK BARK BARK at visitors, delivery drivers, and even neighbors. She's here for her Board & Train program this week to learn all the skills to help her feel less overwhelmed and more confident. Welcome, Cookie!!

Portland Dog Training Experts

Our passion is helping dogs and owners be the best they can be!

Sit Means Sit Dog Training provides professional obedience training in Portland and the surrounding Oregon areas. The most important thing to our trainers is happiness for everyone — dogs and owners alike. Owning a dog that struggles with aggression or constantly bounces off the walls can take away from everyone’s quality of life, but that’s what the team at Sit Means Sit Portland works so hard to improve. Through unique attention-based training and specialized program options, our devoted team strives to meet each dog’s needs and provide successful communication between owners and their beloved pets.

Sit Means Sit Dog Training Portland specializes in behavioral challenges such as aggression toward people and dogs, separation anxiety and fear issues, leash reactivity, and high-energy puppies. Each dog or puppy that goes through the training program has the opportunity to attend a variety of group classes for the rest of their lives, including classes in highly-distracting environments as well as classes that focus on tricks, agility and advanced obedience.

Through our free consultation, we take the time to fit a program to each dog and owner’s goals. Our lifetime warranty allows trainers to build a lifetime relationship with their clients and offer full-time support from knowledgeable staff. There’s no dog Sit Means Sit can’t train, from a 150-pound Mastiff to a 5-pound Pomeranian.
