🔥 Why Do Sphynx Cats Feel So Warm?

One of the first things people notice when they hold a Sphynx cat is how incredibly warm they feel.

Many people assume Sphynx cats have a higher body temperature than other cats. Surprisingly, that's actually a myth!

🐾 Sphynx cats have the same normal body temperature as most other cats — typically between 100.5°F and 102.5°F.

So why do they feel like little heating pads?

The Real Reason

Most cats have a thick coat of fur that acts as insulation. That fur traps heat close to their body and prevents you from feeling their skin directly.

Because Sphynx cats have little to no fur:

✔ Their warm skin is in direct contact with your hand

✔ There is no coat blocking body heat

✔ Their skin transfers heat more efficiently

✔ You feel their natural warmth immediately

Think of it this way:

🐱 A fluffy cat is like touching a warm blanket.

🐱 A Sphynx cat is like touching the heating pad underneath the blanket.

Why Sphynx Cats Love Warm Places

Since they don't have a thick coat to help conserve heat, Sphynx cats are often attracted to:
