It’s that time of the year everyone!!! Time for the annual Dawg Dayz at the Tiffin City Pool. This year, the annual swimming party for your dog will be Aug 12 & 13 from 6P-7:30P. It is with great sorrow that we inform all Friends of the Tiffin Bark Park of the passing of Ellen Drake. Ellen was kind of a caretaker of the park for a number of the years in the beginning. Her and her dog Tommy have the only known honor of being banned from the Tiffin Bark Park and months later returning as the “Mayor of the Tiffin Bark Park after going to obedience school.. that would be Tommy not Ellen.

Ellen was always the first volunteer to work at the annual dog swim at the Tiffin city pool. She would always keep us up-to-date on when we need to p**p bags or the grass needed to be cut. She made the Tiffin Bark Park what it is. A vibrant, alive, loving area where dogs can roam free and humans can make new friends. Rest in Peace Ellen.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL BARK PARK USERS-
The Tiffin Parks and Recreation department is creating soccer fields off to the west of the skateboard park for the Tiffin Soccer Association. These fields will be used for both practice and games. You will begin to see a number of cars using the parking lot daily in front of the Bark Park. Please be extra cautious with your pet as you enter or leave the Bark Park. Just a little over a decade ago Highland Park was the eyesore of the parks department. Due to renovations at the baseball diamond, the skate park, the new soccer fields and the Tiffin Bark Park, it is becoming one of the gems of the system. We welcome the Tiffin Soccer Association!

As you may know, beginning this year , the Friends of the Tiffin Bark Park , Inc. are now responsible for supplying waste bags at the park We have resupplied the Mutt Mitts at the park. We will keep them supplied throughout the year. The bags are meant to be used for the Bark Park and we ask that you do not take any home for your own personal use. After studying all of the bags that we could use, the Mutt Mitt is the best. Unfortunately it is the most expensive to purchase. We will continue to supply with this high-quality product for the foreseeable future. Thank you for your support of the Tiffin Bark Park, the best dog park experience in Northwest Ohio.

If you use the Tiffin Bark Park, please take notice! We are beginning to get complaints from people who are not picking up their dog’s p**p. This is something that CANNOT be tolerated. It appears that the biggest offenders seem to be owners of larger dogs.
NOTE-if you see someone that has not picked up their dog’a waste, and you can identify the time and date that they were at the park, a description of the dog and any other information you can provide…WE MAY DEACTIVATE YOUR KEY FOB AT ANYTIME AND PROHIBIT YOU FROM USING THE PARK. We will also be looking for offenders with our in-park security cameras. Please pick up after your dog and encourage others to do the same! Thank you.

Dawg Dayz are coming to the Tiffin City Pool this Tue-8/15 and Wed-8/16 from 6p-8p. $5 per dog each night. If you can volunteer during the event, please respond in this post, and we will get back with you. If you are a volunteer, you cannot bring your own dog the same night. We want to make sure that volunteers concentrate on all the other dogs in the pool area.
