AN IMPORTANT REMINDER TO ALL TIFFIN BARK PARK USERS: recently there was a case of Giardia at the park. There is essentially no way that we can prevent Giardia from being in the park. According to medical director, Dr. Jamie Pursell, DVM, “it is a waterborne, f***l borne parasite. It is a risk WHEREVER you take your dog.”

BEST PRACTICES: Do NOT allow your dog to drink from the community water bowl in the shelter. Even dumping the bowl and putting freshwater in, will not kill the parasite if it’s in the bowl. We have always recommended that they’re not being a ball at the park for that very reason. In addition, do not let your dogs eat f***s in the park. REMEMBER-we would not have a problem if everyone picked up after their dog. If we find that you are not always picking up after your dog, your key fob is subject to deactivation immediately.

The Igloo now has two chairs to watch your pups play. REMEMBER-NO DOGS ALLOWED IN THE IGLOO!

The igloo is complete! It has now been secured down on the concrete pad under the shelter. The purpose is to give some shelter for humans from the wind when your dogs are at the park and still be able to see 360°. This is a temporary structure in hopes of building a more permanent structure next year if we find that BP people use it. IMPORTANT – THE IGLOO IS FOR HUMANS ONLY. NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED INSIDE. We will be adding a couple of small chairs inside in the near future.

It is with great sadness that we have learned of Tika’s passing. Tika was the name sake of Tika‘s Hut, located in the smaller dog park section at the Tiffin Bark Park. Tika’s Hut was funded in part by her human parents, Rachel and Tim Hopple. She had one of her rear legs amputated a number of years ago and dealt with life by adapting to her ‘tripod’ disability. The photo attached summed up her attitude towards life. Always a smile. Always a wonderful dog. Rest in peace Tika. See you at the Rainbow Bridge.
