This training session involved two challenging clients, Lucy and Lucky, Australian Labradoodles aged 18 months and 6 months, respectively, who exhibited undesirable behaviors including jumping, excessive leash pulling, and poor command responsiveness. Following our second session, both dogs demonstrated significant improvement, walking properly on a leash, obeying commands, and Lucky successfully learned to play fetch correctly. When I consult with clients regarding reactive or unresponsive dogs, my initial question is, how much daily exercise is your dog receiving? Frequently, I am met with the response, “Oh, he is allowed to play in the yard.” Unfortunately, this unstructured activity is insufficient to promote good behavior in dogs. Engaging in organized exercise sessions that utilize command practice is the most effective approach. If you would like help in this area, please do not hesitate to contact us. Reminder: Please walk your dog during early morning and late evening hours to avoid heat stroke caused by excessive heat. A veterinarian friend recommends using cooling measures and coconut water if your dog experiences heat-related issues. ❤️🐶

We were recently asked, "Patty, you taught us to have our dog heel on the leash, but is it acceptable to let him sniff?" The answer is absolutely, but within parameters. Provide him with the full leash to investigate the area, but do so for approximately 10-15 seconds at a time, returning him to a heel position. Walk for about 10 minutes, then permit him to sniff again. Sniffing is an excellent way for your dog to investigate the area, and it actually tires them, but do not allow him to pull you. Doing this exercise daily will help your dog become a Good Dog❤️🐶

Eight-month-old Hope has acquired the ability to relax and submit in the presence of children. This puppy has also mastered the "Give" command during playtime, acknowledging the child’s authority, and both enjoyed a wonderful play experience.
