It’s that time of the year again.

It's Black Fly season and we are receiving many phone calls regarding red bites on your dogs stomach. These are a type of fly bite and dogs generally get them from laying in the grass. They look terrible, but usually do not bother the dogs. They heal quickly on their own and do not require any treatment. Despite their "bull's eye" appearance, these are in no way related to Lyme Disease, tick bites or ringworm. We hope this eases any worry you may have.
If you have any concerns please feel free to call the clinic.

Tips to help avoid a skunk encounter: https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/skunk-spray-and-your-dog

Skunks are everywhere--in the country and in the city--and if your dog gets sprayed, there are ways you can rid him of the scent without using your entire ketchup (or tomato juice) supply to do it.

Acute Caudal Myopathy (Limber Tail)

Could your dog’s tail be too happy? YES! A condition called acute caudal myopathy, AKA happy tail or limber tail, occurs from overuse of the tail which leads to a strain or sprain of the muscles used for wagging. You may notice your dog keeping their tail tucked underneath them or the tail simply looking limp. Rest and anti-inflammatory medication prescribed by your veterinarian will usually have your dog’s tail back to wagging in no time!

Acute caudal myopathy results from overuse of the tail, causing a strain or sprain of the muscle groups used for tail wagging. Possible scenarios leading to limber tail include hard/vigorous play within the previous 24 hours, prolonged swimming, or active hunting within the past few days. The tail m...

Although I have not had the opportunity to meet this team in person, I would like to give a shout out to the Vet, who is helping with the needs of the community there in Ti. #unwantedanimals has made it their mission to "save" as many animals as they can and rehome them. With the help of this team, they are able to get affordable health care and have helped reduced the population of the stray cats with spay and neutering. I just wanted this place to know that your act of generosity are noted and appreciated by all that are members of the group who admire the work and dedication by the members of the Unwanted Animals. Thank you
thank you Little bit is doing much better thanks for being there for us
