It’s graduation day for Gleason! 🎓

​This super handsome guy is heading home today after a lot of hard work. Success in training isn't just about the dog. It’s about the owners, too. Today was all about passing the torch—reviewing the structure and skills needed to keep Gleason on the right path.

Gleason and I headed over to Fort crown point today for some change-of-scenery training. At 11.5 months old, his focus is really coming along!

​We spent time going over all of his commands in a new environment, working through distractions and staying sharp. (At one point, we even had a maintenance worker on an atv drive right by the guy in a down/stay.. talk about goals🙌) After the "work" was done, we made sure to take full advantage of this beautiful weather with some well-deserved free time to explore the historical grounds.

​There's nothing like a productive training session followed by a long walk in the fresh air. This boy is growing up so fast!

Gleason the German Shepherd had a nice walk at a local park this morning☀️ We made our way down by the water and spent some time working on his commands. He stayed focused, made great choices, and then earned some well-deserved free time to just relax and take it all in.

Super proud of this guy! Love seeing it all come together ❤️

Birds chirping, breeze moving, new sights and smells… and Gleeson choosing calm over reaction. That’s where real growth happens.

This is more than obedience, it’s mindset. Teaching a dog how to be in their environment, not just react to it.

Gleason has been working on his threshold training since day one and it’s so much more than just a cool trick. It’s a built-in check-in moment ✋️
For an anxious guy like Gleason, these small pauses create structure, clarity, and calm. Instead of rushing through doors or getting overwhelmed, he’s learning to slow down, look to his handler, and make better decisions.
These consistent patterns of calm behavior are a game changer, not just for Gleason, but for his owners too. Confidence grows when the rules stay the same 💪

Gleason has been putting in the work on one of our favorite drills… place-to-place recall!
This exercise is a game-changer when it comes to stacking commands, building clarity, and exposing those little gaps in understanding. Instead of just recalling once, we’re asking for consistency, precision, and follow-through from place to place.
It’s also a great way to spot errors early, before they turn into habits.
Calm mind. Clear direction. Solid ex*****on. 👌🐾
