We had a great time at our visit to the holiday program at the Damascus Road Community Church near New Market on Saturday. Everyone was dressed in their festive Christmas finery. The ponies enjoy meeting everyone especially when the little hands have carrots. Thanks to our super volunteers who trot out to help bring the joy of ponies to our community.

On this day when we count our blessings, we are especially thankful. Thankful no harm came to any humans or horses as a result of our fire. We are thankful for the support of our horse and local communities in helping us recover and rebuild. We are grateful to those who have helped us in so many ways during this difficult time. We look forward to our next chapter in the Spring.

Our sincere thanks to Mr. Jack Saum and Beltway Companies who recently presented a check for $10,000 to FC4HTRP. Mr. Saum operates the Central Maryland International Trucking dealership on Monocacy Blvd here locally in Frederick. We sincerely appreciate this and past donations from this thoughtful and caring organization. They have been very supportive of us and our mission for years. This donation will help to enable us to rebuild and restore our program back to providing equine assisted therapies and activities to 52 special needs citizens of Frederick County.

Our By Chance Auction was a big success. Kayla Morgan is our Golden Pitchfork recipient for 2025. She is a dedicated volunteer whose energy and joyful willingness is greatly appreciated. Thanks to Uncle Charlie and Randall for our musical entertainment again this year. Big thank you’s to volunteers and parents who came out to help. Thanks to all of our donors of auction offerings and the purchasers who bought them. Our friends the Civitans supported us during set up and the dinner. We raffled two trips donated by Chuck Parker and Rose Bartz. And additionally, a very important heart felt thank you goes out to all who attended. We greatly appreciate everyone’s support in helping us resume in the Spring.

Last weekend we attended the Maryland International Harvester Collector’s Club Fall Harvest Days. We had the very good fortune to be chosen as the recipients of the proceeds from their Annual Baked Goods Auction. They raised $5,420 for our organization’s benefit. We greatly appreciate their generous donation. It felt just like a big International Harvester hug. Thank you very much.

SPAGHETTI DINNER AND FIRE DISASTER RELIEF FUNDRAISER

Save the Date- Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 4:30-7:30pm. Please join us for our main fundraiser of the year at the Lewistown Volunteer Fire Department Activity Center at 11101 Hessong Bridge Rd, Frederick, MD.

Due to our recent fire, our fundraiser will be a little different this year. We will continue to serve our usual delicious spaghetti dinner but we will also now present a “By Chance” Raffle Style Auction. Tickets will be sold at the door $15/adult and $7 children 10 and under. Dinner service will start at 4:30pm. Individual raffles will start at 5:00pm. Uncle Charlie will provide live music. In addition we will be selling raffles for 2 vacation weeklong trips to Hilton Head, SC and Williamsburg, VA. We will also have a 50/50 drawing.

Raffle auction offerings so far include artisinal handcrafted items, certificates from local businesses, attraction tickets, restaurant certificates, custom designed themed baskets, individual new items donated by supporters and sponsors, gift cards, and much more. We will not be selling yard sale type used items this year. We simply have no storage space.

Please join us for an evening filled with fun, food and community. Our local community has been generously supportive of us in light of our recent fire. We would like to give back. For every canned good brought in, we will provide a $1 raffle ticket to use in one of our raffles. Canned goods will benefit the Thurmont Community Food Bank. Hope to see you there.

We just finished a week at The Great Frederick Fair. It was heartwarming to talk with so many concerned and thoughtful visitors to our tack shed. A big thank you to Karen Nicklas, Colby Hubble, fair management and staff who made it possible for us to be there. We are grateful for the support we have received from the horse, farming and overall Frederick communities. It feels like you have given us a great big hug.

We have had an incredible response of tack donations. Thank you to everyone who has brought us tack to rebuild our program. We are snowed under sorting and making a good inventory. Please don’t bring any more tack contributions until we figure out what we still need. I will post that here. Thank you so very much. ❤️
